The Gen 3 seat belt chimes are the loudest and most annoying chimes I've ever had on a vehicle.

I usually wear my seat belt, too, but there are times when they are a PITA and aren't needed, like launching a boat, or pulling thru a manual gate, or doing fencing repairs etc...anything that requires getting in and out of the truck multiple times and driving at super slow speeds with no other cars around.

I was so happy to disable the seat belt warning chime with Carista.

My Carista app subscription worked just fine with my previously purchased generic Bluetooth ODBII reader.

No, I was moving some stuff and something heavy was on the seat. So it thought someone was sitting there. I was about to pull over and adjust things, and then it went off by itself.

Yup, luggage, dogs, heavy packages, even groceries. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a few light dings, then went away. But it's ridiculously loud and distracting, and it goes on forever.

I feel the same way about the parking assist nannies. They're just flat out distracting to me. Fortunately, you can turn that nonsense off, and it remains off.

Never. It’s all muscle memory after many decades. Don’t need a buzzer. Just another step before shifting out of Park. I’m glad the red belt warning lights still work so I can check on my passengers being safe.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
I'll have to plug mine back in and set the 'going up' feature. The software must have updated. That option wasn't there a few months ago.

I have to figure out the timing. I remember seeing the lights flash once indicating it was going to remote start about a month into purchasing but never started. I haven’t been able to do it again since and didn’t work for me this morning.

Is there any way to disable the safety setting that would allow you to back up with the door open? Was trying to back up just to get out of the daughter's way in the driveway, had the door open, and it said nope!

That is a work around, but can it be turned off with Techstream?

You have to activate Safety Connect and Service Connect in the app. Both are free for 10 years. You also have to agree to their Master Data Consent in the Accounts Settings under Data Privacy Portal.

You DO NOT have to pay for any subscriptions.

After making my changes in the app, I had to start my truck and let it run for a few minutes. I think that completes the link between the app and the truck. After that my FOB remote start worked.

This video seems to confirm that near the end.

You have to wait to hear the lady tell you that it’s connected. Took several minutes and a couple off/on cycles. Be patient with it Danielson

It’s probably because you need a new engine.

Oddly, I never heard the lady's message, like the video claims. I activate Safety Connect and Service connect in the app, then confirmed the Master Data Consent was accepted. About 15 minutes later I started the truck and let it run for a few minutes. Then I shut the engine off, got out, and tried the remote start with the FOB, and she fired right up.

It's pretty sad that Toyota holds a feature hostage until we consent to let them collect data on us. Especially when that same feature worked without consent before they changed the rules. If they can arbitrarily disable functionality of FOB remote start with nothing but a software update, what's next?

I consented to all of that the day I bought the truck and didn’t recently change anything. It has just never worked. And I don’t think I have ever heard a lady say anything.
All that being said, after several attempts on the timing it finally did it! Glad it’s working but so stupid it has been this difficult.

Front air dam. Not sure when it comes out or what it is used for, but if you need to access it or get up behind it, you can make it come down.

Press the power button to put it into Acc mode and lift up on the wiper lever(mist) for a few seconds and you can hear the air damn deploy.

Or - immediately after you shut the truck off, hold the wiper stalk up until you hear it deploy

I found this the other day. I guess it must have been in a software update. But you can control the volume of the lock and unlock beeps. Mine was preset at about 75%. I slid that puppy over to 100%. I can now here my truck in a parking lot..

It is in the Toyota software.

It is labeled "Feedback Tone" in the picture. Toyota>Settings>Vehicle customize. Then scroll down on the right.

It had to have been in a software update. I found it because my settings changed to unlock all doors when I unlock. I always keep it on driver's door only. And I had to dig down and put it back like I had it.
