My best truck mod project yet is in motion. Can’t wait to actually have room to tear into things on my own!

Thanks! Long time coming, planning, and saving! Too bad one whole bay is for the travel trailer, but I can always pull it out for more room if needed I guess. Hoping to put a lift like that Atlas lift Viktor has in there one day.

In other more related news, I was looking at windshield washer spray kits on Amazon. They’re super cheap and I was thinking it could be fun to rig up an intercooler mist system with distilled water/isopropyl alcohol mixture for the summer towing trips.

Oh man long bed supercharged is going to happen! Paperwork done and I pick it up on Friday. Talked them down to $32,750 not including taxes or reg but no other fees. I only need to pick up about 9x 12-hour soul crushing shifts of overtime pay to buy a supercharger now but it'll be worth it.

Yes exactly! Although I expect mine to be way more wimpy than that using a windshield washer spray pump and a couple nozzles. I don’t think I’ll have a really nice manifold and high pressure pump like that, at least not right away.

Seems I picked a wrong time to try the Dex3. Still have the hard shift to 6th and it seems to hunt for 3rd and 4th. It ran ok before and I know I need a new/rebuilt unit. Another guy ran Dex3 in the ab60 and said his trans is running great. I'll find some time to swing down.

Been awhile since my last post. Has there been any development since the slew of valve bodies were purchase via group buy/forum discount?

Ah yes, of course. I wanted to keep it under 1000sqft to keep the township from being overly interested and needing inspections, so 999sqft it is. 27x37, 16’ ceilings, sheetmetal ceiling with R30 blown insulation (2) 11x14 doors and (1) 8x8 side door. Probably do 6” concrete over the summer, and eventually a concrete skirt and side patio sort of deal. As time and money allows I’ll probably insulate the walls and heat/cool it.

If you ever throw a lift in, 2-post, specifically, do a corner of the shop at 8" concrete and you'll have more options! Each wall make a breaker/circuit for your outlets...makes it easy to troubleshoot if you ever need to. Also, throw a couple 2"x16"x16' stacked vertical against a truss support and you'll have a spot for a gantry that'll likely be strong enough for 1500lbs... I'm excited for you!!

I've put about 200 miles on it. I did have some codes pop up beforehand. I knew I probably will be needing to send it in. Thanks to Rey @reywcms I'll have a little leeway with sending it in.

Oh man, seems there is always more things to consider! I guess I have to get a price on that concrete option. I was thinking 6” just because I have a buddy who installs rotary lifts and he said that would be plenty for all of his lifts. I like the idea of the “portable” lift as well, although I understand they’re really a bitch to move.

I was just curious about what you thought and if you'd taken the TCUs learning curve into consideration.
My unpredictable hard 4-5 shifts have completely disappeared. The abrupt 1-2 shift is still there, but has mellowed a bit. After putting close to 4k miles on on the transmission, I've yet to see what the 1-2 shift is like at WOT from a dig; I'm going to wait until the roads/weather improve and I'm off the snow tires. I may or may not get a flush and fill in before that, I do want to get one in this spring. The Forward to Reverse and vice versa shifts are still unpredictable; sometimes they're near stock and other times they're pretty harsh. I'm not sure what that's all about.

It is weirdcthat some built valve bodies have that 1-2 shift or a big grab type feeling when going into reverse. I can't explain it but it's almost like some valve bodies are super tight and hold pressure more than others? I know they are built the same way so idk? Built on Monday vs friday?
The trans was running well ocasionally would get a p2714 or p0761 when cold at first start . The hunting in 3-4 does go away when it hits 160 deg. I just don't like the hard shift into 6th, it's pretty harsh but only under 2k rpms. I can go wot and it shifts to 6th with no issue. Last summer my WS fluid was nasty/debri with 25k on it. This was before the built valve body.
I'll hold off on switching fluid and see if it holds up.

I didn't and it was replaced 6 months ago with no issue on shifting, aside from a code here and there. Just with the recent switch in fluids. I was prepared either way if it worked or not.
