Thanks for that. I have been debating with myself whether or not to go with an extended warranty and I would just be interested in an extended powertrain warranty. I am currently leaning towards just being happy with the 5/60 since most of the engine failures happen before that.

I just bought a 10yr/100k platinum from Spencer in part because of rumors of replacement long blocks failing. I would have anyway for peace of mind with how complicated vehicles are now. But now after reading the agreement, I’m wondering if it would cover a replaced engine, or any part already replaced under warranty or recall? The google AI says yes but I don’t know where that info came from.

You're covered. Let's say this recall never existed and your engine or tranny failed, it's not a one time only repair. It's as often as required up to the limits of your policy. Don't worry. Assuming it's a Toyota extended warranty

It is a Toyota extended warranty. That intuitively makes sense to me. If something failed twice under the factory warranty, I’m sure it would be replaced twice. I’m sure the language in the agreement is just meant to exclude aftermarket parts or those installed by a third party, but it’s very specific and still makes me wonder a little if a dealer felt like being annoying.

I tried to contact Jerry to get a price on a warranty prior to taking delivery of my truck, but he never responded. I got an 8y/125K Platinum Plan for $1,970 at the dealership when I picked up my truck.

You can request a quote from Troy through the link below. I bought a 10yr/100,000mi warranty from him. His prices are the same as Jerry’s from what I’ve seen here.

I bought mine from Spencer at Oroville Toyota who’s posted in this thread. Same prices as Jerry, who also never got back to me.

This guy's warranty's are legit? He just emailed me with $1500 for 10 years and 100,000 miles and the platinum care he provided a link for is zero deductible and covers a lot of stuff, even a ton of stuff I would consider maintenance.

I have a 5 year now, but I will happily pay $300 a year to extend it to 10.

Same from Spencer. It is a very reasonable price and I can’t believe it hasn’t gone up since 2022.

Just got mine from Jerry - platinum coverage 10yr/100k @ $1500. Try calling his dealer if you have issues getting in touch. Super nice guy and totally understanding if you spam call him to get in touch.

I utilized Spencer Ubbink at Oroville Toyota. He’s the finance manager and we did everything through email. 10 year, 100,000 miles zero deductible platinum warranty for my Limited 4x4 was ~$1,500. Very easy transaction and a solid value at that price.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, I can no longer help if there is/was an
existing TFS policy on the vehicle, unless it was issued to a prior owner. Here are the purchase instructions if / when you decide to purchase.

I would need you to mail/fax/email a signed letter indicating the exact
current mileage on your vehicle, and a copy of your current registration. (If
you are in a state where you don't get your state registration right away, I
can also use a copy of the bill of sale, purchase contract, or some other
official document which shows the owners name and address, along with the
    vehicles VIN)

Sorry, I know its a little inconvenient, but its the only way we could come
up to cover ourselves on the mileage and VIN verification. After I receive
your letter, I can call you for credit card info, if that's how you choose
to pay, or you can include a check, money order, or the credit card info
with it. Also, make sure that the registration copy is legible (I have
gotten a couple of them recently that I couldn't read or had part of the VIN
    chopped off on the copy).

I cancelled my service agreement when I got home and did some research. They make you feel like you don't have a chance to add one later.

They charged me $3250 for 100k /8 yr. Cancelled that garbage.

How can I get a new service agreement with Toyota before 36mos is up?

    Sounds like Troy cannot help?

I'll dig out the documentation on my extended warranty but wanted to ask this group whether they've been able to either transfer the extended warranty to a new owner of the truck the original policy was bought for or transfer the policy to a newer model of the same vehicle.
I am looking at trading my '22 in on a '25.

From what I remember upon my 125K/10yr.
You have the ability to pass it along with that vehicle or take it with you and apply it on a new or newer (under 36K/3YO) the remaining miles/time line of the vehicle.

This is what I remember of the transaction.

Just got my 2024 Capstone today, emailed Jerry, and within two hours had my warranty. He also told me that if I canceled my previous warranty, I would get a refund for 50% of what I paid. My 2023 Capstone was totaled with a deer hit last week. I wasn't expecting to get a refund. Jerry is awesome!

Recently got a new to me ‘22 SR5 CrewMax and am debating buying the Platinum ECP as I’m hoping to keep this truck for the long term. The market is a lot different up here in Canada (~$3,200 for the 84 month/ 160,000 KM Platinum).

This might not be the right thread but I’m curious if anyone has any insight to any common issues covered by warranty? Specifically looking for input from those who have surpassed the factory warranty and have had any issues pop up and what the cost would be if those repairs weren't covered under warranty? Ie, infotainment system replacement - $3,000, drivers seat cracking - $500, etc

Just trying to do a bit of a cost comparison/ analysis of if $3,200 is worth an additional 4 years of comprehensive and 2 of power train.

    Thanks!
