My name is Kat and I recently inherited my dad's pride and joy his tundra. I absolutely love this truck and want to put some nice work into it. I am having the hardest time finding any information on changing out the lights in the instrument panel and middle console. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank You All, I'm originally from Northern California along with my husband but we moved to Nevada a few years ago, My dad passed away 2 years ago and I absolutely refuse to let my mom sell this truck. So my Husband and I have some big plans for it, its just getting it there and really its more modification work than anything.

    Alot of them
The lights in the 07-13's are soldered into the circuit boards. There used to be a guy years ago that would swap them to different leds. It was expensive but I don't think he has done it in several years. There was an aftermarket option to swap the cluster but you would still be stuck with the rest of the dash switches.

Thanks for the info, the orange lights drive me crazy, I wanted to swap them out for a dark blue, it was my dads favorite color.

Love this story. I already told my dad that his 2019 DC is going to my son one day. So my pops is slowly hooking it up, TRD Pro wheels, exhaust, grill swap.
    Congrats!

Welcome from AZ, this is awesome. I inherited my tundra from my dad as well (mine is a shitbox, but we won't talk about that, LOL) I plan on keeping it stock and handing it down again, hopefully it lasts long enough

Just be aware that there are lots of poor quality aftermarket lights for these.

    Link to said lights?

Most lights are easy to install and a simple plug and play. However, it's more about the output they produce that will leave you happy or dissatisfied.

as said above there are many junk show lights that look good, but aren't good.

Mandatory reminder to change the transmission fluid, since it probably never has been. :D

Absolutely , my dad had dementia , so its hard to say what all has been done to it, recently did oil change, spark plugs, air filters, checked brakes those are still good, next I want the belt and change the transmission fluid. the rest is more cosmetic stuff, like weather stripping and what not... I wants to change head and tail lights, the side mirrors since i travel from California to Nevada constantly I want some with the built in defrost.

Then for me personally I want to black out all the emblems and I want to eventually repaint it, the dark gray is killer during the summer in Cali and Nevada, I want a silver , hides scratches better.

Then I will work on the inside, I want to wrap the inside in carbon fiber........... i got such dreams for this truck, my husband probably thinks im nuts LOL

If your going to upgrade your lights go led. Those are still halogen bulbs. Personally I would go with morimotos, vland, or form lighting. It will cost more but in this case you get what you pay for.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Look into the Sequoia LED OEM headlights...they bolt in, looks fantastic and are OEM in quality and light output! There's a 25% sale going on now at a few dealerships that I would definitely consider checking! Congratulations on an amazing truck! Do small things with quality in mind and you'll never have a bad experience!

Are you sure that truck doesn't have heated mirrors?
I thought that was a standard function.

    Check for a switch.
You might even have a windshield de-icer.
It heats the windshield on the bottom where the wipers sit..

I inherited my Dad's 2008 Tundra about two years ago..... as bone stock as could be. I have had a good time making it mine. On the headlights and taillights, don't go too cheap on the headlights. Cheaper ones tend to leak and don't have a good light cutoff or beam pattern. I went with the Morimoto XBs although they are pricey. I went cheap on the taillights since they aren't as critical as long as they lights up. Both the taillights and headlights are easy to replace for 2007-2013 years (2014+ needs a lot taken apart for headlights). For black badges, I decided to go with overlays this time. I removed the badges on my 2003 Tacoma, but the overlays are very easy. Just clean your badges well before you put the overlays on. https://www.ebay.com/itm/393961794027 Now for my unsolicited suggestion... one of the best and free mods you can do on a double cab is the back seat fold down mod. https://www.tundras.com/threads/dc-fold-down-rear-seats.699/ You can fold down your back seats after this modification, but they still lock in place upright. There is a lot of room back there for storage.

Good call on the rear seat mod..
My wife is always cold so I keep a jacket for her and my rain jacket strapped behind the passenger seat.

I read about this mod last year and still haven't done it. Time to change that.
