Thank You for the sound advice.

I really like my new 2025 Tundra except for the cheezy thin metal and the plastic composite bed and rear bumper.
Will go aftermarket on rear and front bumpers but will wait a year on that.

LOVED my 2012 , 2016 and 2018 Tundras and was so used to the quality, strong dependable trucks as well as my Tacomas.

Will give updates on this 25 Tundra and hoping it turns out as my older ones did.

    Thanks Again

The epa has forced most to do things they wouldn’t have done before , like aluminum hoods etc.

The composite bed is actually nice , no rust bs, no liner needed and it’s pretty damn strong , so don’t worry about that either .

as far as the older trucks, I liked mine too, they have have qualities that are nice. This one rides better , has higher payload , higher towing , more stable towing and a shit load of low end torque , peak @2,400 , and an outstanding 10 speed

just enjoy what you have and don’t sweat shit that hasn’t happened yet, it’s no way to live

    boost on.

Yeah, you definitely should have found out about that stuff the day before you bought your truck.

Take some small amount of comfort in this: knowing those things does not make the failure of your truck more or less likely.

My disdain is that I am semi retired from a auto accident where a guy ran a Red Light at 50mph - full force, no braking, into my driver door (2016 Tundra).
Torn left shoulder and right hip surgery.
Cannot do as much now and my income is very limited.

This was the most amount of money that i have placed on a new vehicle so my expectations were sky high.

    Thanks Again

I think it is hard to have peace of mine when you start to know people that have had their engine replaced already or are waiting to get their engines replaced. My brother-in-law had his 2022 Tundra Limited engine replaced in January. They had his truck for nearly two weeks. He lives in Utah. I live in Texas and my neighbor three doors down has had his 2023 parked in his driveway for two months waiting for his turn, because here in Central Texas there are Tundra's absolutely everywhere. Since we are 2 1/2 hours from the factory I would bet we have the most concentrated area of Tundra's in the entire country. My neighborhood alone I would say in 20% Tundra's ranging from 1st through 3rd gen. Anyway, he has had a Toyota loaner for two months and the last I checked he doesn't get his engine replaced until early April.

That's the problem and the risk you take buying thee new Tundra's. If you it goes it is a nightmare.

"The faulty engines were produced in two Toyota plants — one in Japan and one in Alabama."

Does the VIN contain a code for where the engines were produced ???

Good luck with that, you are living in a fantasy world if you think you would win that case.

Almost as big a fantasy as thinking the person who owns the Toyota dealership will let you swap the Tundra for a Ram straight-up. Your truck depreciated the day you drove it off the lot and unless you lemon law it, which none of your complaints are covered under, you'll eat some loss.

But hey, just keep posting the same responses, I'll keep driving my 2024 laughing at someone so clueless.

Just be glad you haven't set your cruise control to 45-55mph. It's hard to tell how the new 3rd Gens (especially 2025 models) will handle taking corners at 95mph, particularly around 45 (give or take) mailboxes and 32 foot cliffs.

And then there's the nipple snapping...

Oh this is a good review of the Tundra Engines and issues identified.

Crank issues and Main Bearing Walk, severe rod bearing issues, oh my! No lock tabs on the bearings, sounds like quite a few errors above and beyond the claim of debris from machining.

    I have a 8week newborn

I have a 22 tundra with vin part of engine failure recall and no ETA from Toyota on replacement

Due to no timeline, and I don't want to potentially have my newborn stuck with me waiting on side of road for help

I sold my truck, 56k new, sold for 43k with 12k miles after 28 Months of ownership

I have been a Toyota fanatic since the 80s, this gen3 fit and finish is subpar vs all other Toyota offerings.

I literally was in a $20k Corolla SE rental, it had 2 tone interior, multi color stitching, soft touch everywhere, nice brushed aluminum look around the controls instead of of the sea of flat black on my tundra, made me feel more luxurious being in a 20k Corolla then my 50k tundra lol

Maybe come in with a little humility next time instead of implying someone didn't watch a video that has already been posted on the site and has a dedicated thread. For the record it didn't piss me off, it's a message board so I'm used to it.

Welcome, hope you enjoy the board!

Based upon my previous ownership and GREAT APPRECIATION of two Tacomas and THREE Tundras (pre 22) I decided that my 2025 Tundra was not worth keeping and I returned it for a Flat Cancel.

I am currently looking for a pre-22 Tundra for my son who is looking for his first truck.

    Replaced the 2025 Tundra with a low mileage(under 5k) 2022 RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi = similar in power to my 2018 Tundra

Too many un-Tundra like elements on the new Tundras which determined my decision.

Hope that everyone has a long and strong life with your new Tundras.

Will reconsider the new Tundra after Toyota makes the required changes.

BIG Thank You for everyone's input on here.

Enjoy the new Ram, as long as you are happy with your new truck that's what matters!

Hopefully you don't end up like this guy. https://www.reddit.com/r/ram_trucks/comments/15s9ler/2022_ram_1500_57l_hemi_dead_engine/

I hope I don't end up with a bad engine in the 2025 Tundra I'm going to pick-up soon. Will be upgrading from a 21 Gen 2.5 TRD Off Road. I did my research first on the issues with the gen 3's and I will be adding the 6year 125k platinum extended warranty with it. Saved 5k over TTSRP so the warranty is essentially free.

Now I need take pictures and list my Gen 2.5 Ironman Raid series rear bumper, my Gen 2.5 Switch Pros 9100 Tundra kit and my Gen 2.5 Diode Dynamics in Bumper 42" light bar on the market-place. All are still new in box.
