Any engine issues with 2025 Tundra?

I have had no issues with my 2022 and my 2024. I'm just putting it out there.

 

We plan on returning the Tundra and will see what the Dealer is willing to do.

I found out that the Toyota Dealer also owns a RAM/JEEP Dealership and maybe they will swap trucks so they get to keep my money.

 

Well, that is great news.

Today we are finding out that some 2025 Tundras are experiencing the same catastrophic engine failure with some under 1,000 miles from new.

Having over 20 Years of Toyota Dependability i went out and purchased a 2025 CrewMax SR5 4WD on 2/28/25
Found out the next day about the extensive engine failure and recall.
Found out today that the motor failure still continues in some 2025.

Having the Tundra only two days and i am seriously considering returning this Tundra for a number of reasons in addition to strong possibility of motor failure.

Shocked and greatly disappointed at inferior build quality of Toyota AND at especially at the cost of these Tundras - $65k

My tried and true Pre-22 Tundras hold great value on resale whereas no one wants to buy a used 22 or newer AND dealers do not want them on a trade unless greatly depreciated.

I agree. Any recent Tundra buyer, who wasn't aware of the engine recall months ago, wasn't paying attention. It's been all over the internet, and I even saw a report about it on my local TV news station.

This recall has been an interesting study in psychology. Some guys were so panicked they immediately parked or sold their trucks. Others continued to use their trucks as usual, but acknowledged the small likelihood of engine failure was troubling to them. Some said, "meh, boost on, if she blows, I'll deal with it then". And finally, some guys view getting a new engine for free, sometime in the future, is a bonus. Pretty wild reaction extremes.

 

It is the responsibility of the manufacturer/Dealership who is FULL KNOWLEDGE of the potential of major engine failure that could lead to a accident and bodily injury.

This is how Class Action Lawsuits are birthed.

It is the consumer's responsibility to do research. You may not like it, but they aren't legally obligated to tell you things your own purchase research should be revealing.

 

YES they are legally obligated of a KNOWN SERIOUS ISSUE that can lead to an accident, harm and or death = RECALLS of over 100,000 Toyotas and this number will grow LARGER.

It is the corrupt coporate who want you to believe otherwise and thus CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS are born.

Within Toyota and the Dealerships this is a KNOWN SERIOUS ISSUE.

Responsibility is in their ball court.

I love Toyota Tundras and I love Toyota vehicles.

There is no Toyota bashing here, only their major failure.

Love the 2025 Tundra except for how CHEAPLY they downgraded the Tundra at a cost of $62k to $75k

 

Average Consumer Purchaser research does not include MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE within 30k miles or less when looking at new cars/trucks.

Consumers are DEPENDENT on Auto Manufacturers/Dealers of NEW cars/trucks to provide a SAFE RELIABLE vehicle and thus the 3year/36k mile bumper to bumper warranty AND the 5 year 60k mile powertrain warranty.

Warranty is for UNEXPECTED malfunction(s) SHOULD they arise.

Consumers are dependent upon manufacturers to provide safe reliable vehicles which they claim and advertise, 24/7 on TV, Internet, Smart Phones, Radio, Magazines

 

AND, by their continuing to sell a vehicle with KNOWN MAJOR DEFECTS/FAILURE at very low mileage on over 100,000+ new vehicles, they disregarding public safety and not just for the new Toyota owner but passengers as well as other drivers on the highway/roads.

New info for me as I never heard of the NHTA, which monitors these issues.

Did not know this as i NEVER had an issue in 38 years of driving many many good reliable vehicles including your inexpensive used vehicles back in the day that you picked up for $700.00 and drove it till it died.

Be careful on low mileage vehicles - with todays inexpensive tech, 1 in 50 vehicles have their miles rolled back = found that out last week when i was looking for used trucks.

 

Mine did. That's why I'm in an F150 right now.

So you admit to their hiding this info from the consumer since 2022 and unless you are part of a Toyota forum to discover this.
Dealer told me the Tundra was fine.

Now why did the innocent protector of truth Dealership not mention to me the 100,000+ recall on these self destruct engines???

 

Because your truck isn't in the recall. It's officially not an issue on the 2024+ trucks.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't buy one and I think Toyota fumbled hard, but your expectations are coming off a bit naive. It is 100% on the consumer to research their purchases.

Car guy Online mentions only three so far have been discovered, but to me that's not worth risking my $80,000 investment at this point. Personally, I would completely skip the 3.4L V6 turbo. If I had to buy a brand new truck today I would go with a GMC/Chevrolet Sierra/Silverado 2500 gasser. They are cheaper than a 1/2 ton truck. You can get a SLT for the same price as a Tundra Limited 4x4 of $66,000.

To be fair, I occasionally have stong inclings when passing the GX550 overtrail. AND.... I wanted to love the new truck. Thats gotta count for something right!?!?

That right there settles the matter and i will sue both Toyota and the Dealership should this occur on my Tundra = because THEY KNEW which in a court is LIABILTY


Toyota quality for 20 years that never let me down.

All 2024 that have destructed are included under the warranty which will most likely end up with a new motor as well.

I am certain that a lawsuit will be filed against Toyota AND it will be by me if my engine fails in the same manner as those on recall.

Courts always look at the history of when these issues arose and the number of vehicles/owners affected and what Toyota did or did not do about it.

Just drive it and be happy , it will be fine , it’s a very very small possibility anything will happen , remember there is not many failures compared to amount of trucks produced .

no matter what you buy something can happen to it, it’s a complex machine built by humans, goes for any truck out there

You bought it, take a deep breath , relax, it will be fine . If rare shit does happen, you have a warranty.
