My HU (DNX996XR)has wireless carplay, and recently, the truck's antenna cable had separated from the HU's antenna connection, unbeknownst to me. My SiriusXM tuner was reading "no antenna found" and couldn't stay tuned in to any channel, and the FM radio function on the headunit had no reception. I didn't notice any issues with using Google Maps through CarPlay other than my location and speed were lagging by about 2-3 seconds (whereas it is normally less than 1 second). I removed the HU without disconnecting any connections, plugged the antenna cable back into the HU connector, and everything was working normally.

Remembering this, I checked some kb articles, and it appears that CarPlay does use a vehicle's antenna for GPS. If you can remove your HU and check the connection to your truck's antenna connector, you may find it loose or disconnected. Reconnect it (or disconnect it and reconnect it), and put your HU back in. (I'd recommend waiting to re-snap your dash panels until after you test drive it to see if this resolves your issue.

Otherwise, you may have to start troubleshooting connections going further upstream towards the antennas.

Excellent suggestion! Hopefully that's the source of my problem. Thank you!
