You'll get about 6" out of it, if you go there and commit.

It’s a round tuit. Now that MFer can’t complain about procrastinating because clearly he’s got a round tuit, and there no more room for excuses.

Needed a temporary bumper while reverting to stock. Figured I'd show off my most classiest of mods. It's fiberglass.

I added (2) 1/4" Coachbuilder shims on top of the driver's side 5100 to compensate for the toyota / lexus lean.

I paid $4,160.12 to a shop in Oceanside, and drove it home. That's because I ignored proper maintenance for 12 years or so. There's a few minor, but important parts and fluid to replace that I'll handle in the next couple of days, but they did the heavy lifting. I have a sense of relief.

There's a comprehensive report with my initial complaints, the testing done, findings, recommendations, the work I had them do, and the itemized costs for labor and parts. Pretty much the usual stuff I've read about on this forum.

I don't know how the repairs done and the cost incurred compare with similar work done by others in this area. I won't be surprised if it could've been handled better and cheaper elsewhere. It's been a bit mortifying to face the results of my neglect.

But after 18 years with the truck, I'm pretty attached to it. I remember when they first came out, and I wanted one. Bush was President when I paid cash for it in 2007. I had hair, in decent shape, career in full swing. And the truck never left me stranded. Before I wax philosophical further, and extend this War & Peace post, I'll stop.

If anyone wants to know what the issues were, repairs, costs, etc, ask away. I left my pride at the door a long time ago. I like my truck.

I haven't, and with it being behind the tail light housing, I forgot about it completely.

HOWEVER, thanks to you bumping this after I had my 2nd coffee, I just got a genius idea. If there's ANY hole inside that cubby, like the one near the square opening at the bottom of the pocket, you can use a barbed trim fastener upload_2025-2-28_11-48-50.png to secure it into any existing hole. There's a few styles, and I have a boxfull of different ones, I'm sure I could find something that fits, snap a pic, and update that thread. If I can get a round tuit.

Oh and @daveeasa, I think you actually did send hardware for mine, I just threw it in my bins.

You bet. I'm not sure if it's easier to attach screenshots of individual pages or the entire thing as a pdf (which will test my inadequate computer skills). When the press of today's business is over, and I'm done apologizing to my truck ala Tom Hanks to Wilson, I'll put everything up. But nobody here will be surprised that 1 of the tasks was the valve cover gaskets.

@Fbrook loner I like that youve owned your Tundra for almost 20 years and just now joined this forum. I bought my truck used a little over 6 years ago and found this forum soon after and joined immediately.

Its been such a great place to share our amazing trucks with eachother and get tons of help and info to keep them running hopefully forever.

And Im even gonna hopefully get to meet some of this crew in April at the T2S event!

As long as you didn't have them install aftermarket lower ball joints, and you've installed new OEM lower ball joints sometime in the last 100k-125k miles, and you've got a new timing belt and radiator installed within the last 5-6yr/50k miles, you should be golden for a long time to come.

Posting images is easy - in the little box where you type your replies, there's an "Upload File" button, usually in the right-hand corner of the box. Tap that, select the file to upload, then OK, and it'll automatically attach the photo you selected. Repeat as many times as necessary and it does the rest. When you click Post Reply, all your images will be linked in the reply.

Ordered some cheap-o headlamp replacements today from CarID. $95 for both lamps and the side markers. I don't have high expectations on great quality.

I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Were you looking for black specifically? I just helped a member with a DC get new CAPA certified clear ones for around $130, I believe.

I was going to buy just the side marker lamp as mine is sweating inside and pooling. So looking around I saw that they were about $50+- for just the side marker lamp alone. Then I saw this on Carid and decided to just see how it goes for $50 more.

I did want to smoke them out out some point, but it wasn't really on my radar this soon.
