2020 Tundra 8' Head Unit Retro?

Interested. I have a 2019 jbl nav that i want to replace with a 2020 carplay unit. Pm price please.

 

I am very sorry, but I sold that head unit almost 10 months ago. You are looking at a thread that is over a year old.

 

Shit. I fell into a hole of stupid not looking at the date.

 

I can't stand the sound of mine if I try to pull some sound to the back. It sounds a lot better if I put my sound almost all the way to the front. That sucks.

 

Did they have to custom make this or was it in stock? I'm very interested in this. Also, interested in a 2020 OEM CarPlay radio anyone might have if I'm able to get a harness.

 

The 2020 radio sucks....thats why everyone is removing them.

 

If the kenwood dmx1057xr would ever be in stock again…..

 

Installed a 2021 Tundra OEM CarPlay radio in my 2019 with a harness from autoharnesshouse and I'm very happy with the results. Everything works great and its so nice that its OEM. I know this isn't for everyone but it suites my needs perfectly.

 

CD? What’s this CD you speak about? I am looking for a oem with 8 track cannot find one anywhere.

 

Was that harness a special order? I dont see it on the website.

Yes. The harness worked like a charm but the head unit is still not up to par. I sold it all and installed a pioneer 8600

 

I see. Would you care to elaborate on why it wasn't up to par?

As long as everything works as intended, I would like to do this

 

Carplay was glitchy. Its like the head unit didn’t have enough RAM and processing speed to run without pausing music and locking up carplay all together. The in motion lockouts were also terrible when searching music or navigating.

 

Were you ever able to get thr trip info/mpg to work on the new unit? I swapped a new jbl in as well, but the trip info has never worked

 

How did this work overall? Was it glitchy like some say? I'm interested in doing this in my 2016 Tundra Limited.

 

The head unit itself is crap. That's why most remove them......hardly any adjustment options, poor volume control, etc.

 

When you say "It's crap" can you break that down a little more? Is it as good as the 2016 OEM HU? I like the OEM look but would like to have Apple Carplay. If it does that without any issues, that's good enough for me. I'm not competing in any sound competitions.

 

It will be fine for that. Otherwise it's a factory overpriced Panasonic with hardly any features.
