Just something for a friend who just happens to be having a similar surgery to what I'm having this week. He hates talking pain pills and though this might help the first few nights.

Kids....
Senior HS kids have a "senior assassin" thing. Basically, they are given names to shoot with a squirt gun. Only "safe" spots are schools, and inside ur employer. You have to wear a floatee on your arm to show you haven't been "shot" yet. I've been telling our daughter to calm down. She has been making it this whole thing. Yesterday, she asked if she can take my car to school in the AM to avoid detection (so nobody follows her home to "shoot" her). I said ok, but use ur head.
School resource officer calls today...some kid (who had her as a "target") found her and then both the kids vehicle, and mine were called into the school as road rage on XXX street. I dig into it. Turns out, the kids showed up at my house (on camera) at 0700 hours with three vehicles. They saw the garage open (it was my wife) and they ran into the garage to "shoot" our daughter. Our wife told them "sorry guys, not her". and they all left. Then they found her driving (my car) on XX street. The reporting party said she (my daughter) was being brake checked. I reviewed dash-cam...no such thing. I was even looking hard to find any driving / moving violations my daughter may have made during this whole thing, but she didnt (thankfully).
The SRO was super sweet. She just wants to remind ALL seniors this shit needs to calm down cuz someone will be get hurt...i.e.- like she said, if that kid had gone into a garage, where someone may be trigger happy it could have been deadly. I sent her videos of the dash cam, and videos of the kids coming onto our driveway, in the garage, and then all leaving, desperately getting into their vehicles. She spoke to some of the other kids parents who were apologetic and seem to be handling it as good parents should.
I gave an ass chewing to my daughter to re-emphasize this shit could be serious and now I had to speak to LE about this.

Daughters best friend (super sweet, innocent, great student, never kissed a boy, straight edge) doesn’t have a dash cam in her car. Don’t think stepdad is much involved or doesn’t know much.
Our daughter told her to drop her car off at our house. She didn’t even question why lol. She came over, spoke with her and said why she should have one and I went ahead and purchased it and will install it. She about broke into tears.
Took a few hours, but front and rear dash cam are done.
She’s our favorite friend of our daughters and I’m sure they’ll continue to be super close as they grow.

 

She really is a good kid. Total church girl, despite our daughter (and I) being atheists. She doesn’t hold any judgment. She’s the one our daughter can call on at anytime, day or night and she would be there. She deserves it. I told her to consider it part of her bday/graduation gift (her bday is on senior graduation day)
