I've had that on my taco for 60k+.

Not a spacer, converts a-arm and upper ball joint to use a second strut. VW of all things.

Seems they only showed unibody cars and SUVs or with "expanded metal" frames, nothing with a real C-channel frame under it, unless I missed one.

Land Cruiser and Tahoe aren't body on frame SUVs? I've seen this one before and I'm still shocked at how poorly the Land Cruiser performed. 1% chance of survival...

It's a game you can play on PC. Surprisingly, not very difficult to run. Unbelievably fun. And just as addicting as those videos.

They are body on frame designs. Only smaller SUV's like the Corolla Cross and all sedans are unibody designs.

The Vic? Yeah, ha. I should clarify that all modern sedans have a unibody with only frame rail ends in the engine bay and rear trunk area.

any fuel getting into cylinder 5 is dumping into the oil pan. I wonder if they used a borescope or compression test.

There is a huge difference in what constitutes a frame. A C-channel is a frame, an expanded metal tube is less so and I believe those are expanded frames on those vehicles. Take a look and compare the frames on our Tundras with those of a 4Runner from the same time period. See the line of weld running down the middle of the bottom of the frame? That's an expanded metal/boxed frame. It's lighter and stiffer but not as strong as a C-channel frame. The industry went to that type of frame on smaller/lighter vehicles to reduce weight in order to squeeze that extra mile per gallon out of the gas to try and meet Federal standards.

I think it would be interesting to know if that truck was loaded with cement at the time. Those trucks can do an awful lot of damage. Way back in the sixties we had a customer buy a brand new full size Chevy, fully loaded, and because he was handicapped I installed a full set of hand controls. He drove it home and parked it in his garage. Later that day a cement truck coming down the hill behind his house, lost it, went thru the side of his garage, and totally destroyed his brand new Chevy. It had 11 miles on it. Did I mention it was a brick garage? I see one of them on the road, especially at speed, I give em a wide berth.

A “brick wall” on a house is merely a veneer. Very little strength, but makes a durable weatherproof exterior. Most of us aren’t gonna have to tangle with a cement truck, much less a cement truck smashing us into a reinforced concrete wall thankfully, just other cars on the road. I was impressed With the durability of the explorer.

There is really no design that can withstand the impact of a cement truck or any other heavy vehicle against a normal commuter car with high survival rates, hah. Crash energy has to go somewhere, either distributed around the vehicle or into your body.

I think its from the game BeamNG on PC.
