Morning. Looking for a little insight into a starting issue that has arisen. When you turn the key to initiate start, it takes a couple of seconds to initiate the start. Ign.switch issue? Starter? Or worse:):(... Thoughts? Thanks to all.

Just for giggles - what is the sitting (overnight) battery voltage?

Interesting thought, battery is only a couple months old so I never thought to look at that really. I'll test and circle back. Thanks.

Does the delay happen on a cold start, such as if the truck being parked for a few hours or overnight, then started in the morning?
Does the same 2-second delay happens on a second start? For example, start it and let it idle for about a minute or two, then start it again and see if there is a delay.

I can only assume that the fuel pump would need about a second to pressurize the fuel if the truck has been parked overnight, although during a normal condition the fuel pressure rarely drops down by much when engine is not running, unless there is a fuel pressure leak somewhere.

Is the immobilizer light turning off? Or staying lit? Does it click? Is it flexfuel?
Consider batteries sit on a shelf for a while before being installed in any car. Excessive heat and cold can kill them quicker. Additionally what are the CCA on battery?

Nah you got a bad ground.

95 percent of electrical issues on modern vehicles can be traced back to a bad ground.
