On The Way App - combined apple map and weather. It's not free though, like $25 a year or something like that.

ok cool, Ill check that out.

is that the only option you guys know of

Ive always wanted a radar on the screen for traveling,

so does it plot along a route ? or just give a radar screen for where you're at and you can zoom in and out type deal?

A quick search shows that My Radar's free version works with CarPlay. I just downloaded it, and I have to run an errand in town.

I'll test it out and report back.

It works, but I don’t think it plays a time line video, like other radar apps. Or I just haven’t found it yet.

ok, so as near as you can figure, its just a snap shot picture?

can you zoom in and out or is it only a huge zoom out like your pic

Have you tried OnTheWay app? It's a GPS guidance app that includes the weather in it's route planning. Includes radar, but not it's main function. The 2.5 gens had weather radar built in to the Entune system, no comparable in the 3rd gens updated Entune?

I would love for something like Radarscope to work through android auto where you can get the actual level2/3 data from each radar site instead of just this overly smoothed out composite reflectivity. But I guess it's better than nothing. Probably gonna just mount my macbook to the dash somehow lmao.

Yes, it appears to be just a snap shot view, which is disappointing. You can zoom in and out, and scroll to different locations, however. It’s better than nothing, but not what I was hoping for.

that 2.5 gen system was total shit, looking for a modern radar type system

I'll check out that on the way app, but I wasnt really wanting another mapping route GPS, I like Waze, Apple for that

Dunno. It’s not very useful without a timeline scroll, to me.

I suppose it’s a distraction issue. Mine does what you want (timeline and motion) on my phone, but not on CarPlay. Just like Waze, some features aren’t available while on CarPlay, due to “distraction”.
*the Pro version updates fairly quickly…few minutes as opposed to hourly or daily.

I suspect you're correct. Not sure why they can't make certain features only available when the truck is in Park.

First world problem. Thanks for your suggestion. I do like how My Radar works on my phone, and will definitely use it.

Yes. 3 consecutive lock button pushes, holding down on the third. It takes a few seconds to start. The motor will shut off with door opening though.

Watch for each push that the running lights flash, they need to. If you miss a push, you must start over again.

Maybe it’s a fourth push. Maybe someone will correct me if wrong.

The timing of the button pushes is finicky. Once you figure it out, it works OK, but not great at more than 30 feet away. Definitely don’t need to pay for a subscription, though.

The blinkers flash, but still nothing. Thinking I saw a thread on here a long time ago about this and I couldn’t get it for whatever reason

I tried to upload a video from my iPhone. Not supported darn it.

Hold on the third press at like one second intervals. 2-3 seconds into the hold, the lights will flash a few times and then 2-3 seconds after that, the engine starts. It will shut off with unlocking the doors.

My third press is more like 5-10 seconds, before it starts.

My video is 16 seconds long. That includes me saying here we go, counting off the 3 start presses, commenting the lights flashing during the hold and start up with walking to unlock the doors at the handle to hear the motor shut off.
