2011 Tundra with 215k miles finally engine died

    This has been the best truck I ever owned . I went to buy a 2022 new one even made an offer but glad they didn’t accept it . By the time they did I had found out about the quality derailment of Toyota on Tundras .
    I just put another 4.6v8 engine in my 2011 and I’m putting another transmission in it (it was on its last leg and slipping ) and will drive it another 100k miles or more .
    I was die hard Toyota but now I’m die hard old Toyota lol .

    Why is this in the Gen 3 forum?

    Sorry for your loss, but glad you're working to get it fixed.
    Think of all the money you saved not buying a Gen 3......:thumbsup:

    Yeah I think it’s relevant on the new gen 3 thread as maybe some others thinking about buying a gen 3 might decide to consider doing what I did

    Then they should head on over to the 2nd generation forum to learn more about V8s and transmissions that need replacing at a tick over 200k on 2nd generation Tundras.
