Kidney stones suck, been a couple of years since I had one pass.
I thought it passed last week with a little mild discomfort, but I guess it was just starting it's journey.
    Hardcore pain yesterday afternoon.
6 hours in the ER last night, well 2 hours at one hospital and we left to go to another one.

It's only 3MM so it will pass on it's own, just don't know when.
The doctor looked at me funny when he told me it was there and I said 'That's good news'.
We had to know if I passed it or if it was still in there, the uncertainty made it worse.

I feel good this morning, no pain meds yet.
That's the weird thing about them, you can go from no pain to waves of pain at 10+ in a matter of minutes.

I guess my saving grace is that I'm already off work with the shoulder stuff..

Quick and painless passing my friend. At least you don't have to deal with laser Lithotripsy.

    Warning, not for the squeamish.

I went thru a lot of that mostly back in the 1990s.
The rolling on the floor in pain, which I did yesterday, the puking, although I never blacked out.

Lithotripsy then was they knock you out, put you in a huge tub of water, and externally send shockwaves directed at your kidneys.
I think I was better off than you with your laser surgery.:eek2:

    Then the stents and removals.
The first doctor I had SHOVED a 1/4 metal tube into my bladder and pulled the stents out.
Then he did it again to remove stones in his little basket.

Same situation as you, they put a little lidocaine on the tip and said 'You'll be fine'.
I literally felt violated after those procedures.
    I switched doctors after that.

The second lithotripsy was the water tub, but the doctor left the stent hanging out to the tip of my junk and taped it to the side.
When it was time to remove that stent the office told me 'Oh you can do it yourself at home if you want'.
WHAT? So they talked me through how to do it.
Sit on the toilet, push like you're urinating, and slowly pull it out.
I did and it was much better than them going in to get it..

I've still got a few (2 -5 mm) stones in each kidney that have been forming since 1991.
As long as they don't move my urologist says don't worry about it.
However, with my CT scan for my appendectomy last year and the CT last night I was told I also have small gallstones too.

    Good times a coming..:D

Y'all have me a little worried about my future - - this intracranial hypertension problem is most often solved by medications that increase my chances of getting kidney stones (among other bullshit problems). None of this sounds like it's any fun at all.
