    Hi Everyone,

I have had a strange issue that I’m trying to resolve that with my door locks. Here is the issue so I’ve had my truck for about 2 years and the doors have locked and unlocked just fine until about 6 months ago when they would lock all the doors but only the driver side door unlocks that when on for two weeks then they all started working again a month later they went back to locking all doors and only unlocking the driver door I also have a tailgate lock that is brand new since I bought the truck and that also doesn’t unlock so I figured it’s not an actuator problem

What setting options are there for a 2011? The 2017 I had, had some options to select what doors unlock when using the unlock button on the key fob. But overall sounds like an electrical/ecu type gremlin.

There are no options that I know of but I just hoping it’s not the main body ecu which it mostly sounds like to me hoping anyone has had a similar issue

You will need to lube that wire. Is that door mainly facing the sun? Either parked in the driveway or at work??? Assuming it is, I had a similar issue with my '07 back in '16 where the same thing would happen, but on my passenger door. Either way, you will need to purchase a lubricant. I picked WD40 dirt and dust resistant, kinda regret it at the time, but its been good and lasted to this day. What I did is I sprayed that b on the cords, shy of that plastic sheath and at the end of the actuator, kinda in the blind. After that started working it back and forth a couple dozen times, probably overkill, but I wanted to make sure it was good to go. I locked it and unlocked it manually, using the ball. After that it started locking without an issue. Hope this helps.

I have a 2011 with the same issue. Doors locked and unlocked perfectly until a couple of months ago. The driver door locks and unlocks from the remote or driver door button. All doors lock with the remote, from the drivers door button or when the truck hits 15 mph. I've checked the fuse under the dash and it's good. It's also getting about 13 volts constant power, so we're good to there. It's not a lube issue. I can hear clicking under the dash when I hit lock or unlock but only the drivers door responds to the signal. I bought a new actuator to try, plugged it into the rear door and it behaves the same (door locks, does not unlock). I'm guessing there's a computer or switch or something that sends the unlock signal to the other three doors either separately from the driver's door or to the driver's door and then on to the other 3 doors, but that's as far as I've gotten.

I would check the handle on the inside of the door panel. I'm having a similar issue of the rear doors being seized... What I do know is that the locks are inoperable from the inside since the last time they were removed at the stealership, they snapped both sides but can be locked and unlocked via fob/master switch. Additionally you may need to look at the plastic snaps that hold tension to the cable that corresponds to said doors. I just snapped the one on my SC400 and my handle was inoperable from the outside, but fine from the inside. A $3 plastic snap bracket fixed it.

@blackdemon_tt As a separate issue I did find myself in a similar situation. The plastic piece that holds the end of the lock cable cracked and I was unable to unlock the door at all. I ended up forcing the panel off and I took the door panel off replaced the handle/lock door assembly. The lock and door open cables both move freely and work as they should, both attached to the handle and disconnected. I can open and close the door using the handle and manual lock/unlock and still lock the door using the key fob or door lock button. Also, with the cables disconnected from the handle and with a new actuator installed, it still only locks and doesn't unlock.

Sorry for the super late post haha but I tried @blackdemon_tt and it didn’t fix the issue might be a main body ecu problem I’ll have to take it in to get it fixed unless someone else has a solution

Sorry for the late response. '24 was a rough year for me.... these actuators have issues from what I'm seeing on the Lexus forums. Especially the rear ones. I guess lack of use seizes them..

If it wad a body ECU issue you would have other components out as well. For example tail lights out, fuel gauge, horn, radio among other things. My 02 Celica had a bad body ECU and my door locks, moon roof, brake lights, fuel gauge, 1 O2 sensor and temperature wouldn't work.

Sounds like a broken cable... you may need to crack open the driver door and see what it does.
