My tundra 3.0 manual suggests running with scissors while the oil drains
    The longer you run
    The more oil will drain
    Page 666 of the manual

    I doubt it
The highest mileage on a gen 3 ive seen is in 160k mileage range
If I keep driving mine, I'll cross 200k in about 2 yrs

Ones gotta assume any of these high mileage examples are running factory original motor, & if so, that gives me peace of mind in continuing with my original motor & saving my free motor replacement for a much later date (I'm in the recall & got my letter in December)

I talked with the editor in chief at Carfax and he doesn't have any other tools to search than what we do. I didn't see any others.

    Nice write up!
Who ever owns that one should start the 200k club thread....I will join the club in two years....hehehe

Tim, Do you have the gen3 tundra? Or have you had the chance to drive one?

I get the feeling gen3 tundras are very reliable

in my experiences with motoring, if a vehicle makes it to 100k & gets adequate (not overly paranoid) maintenance, it will go 300-400k miles before major tranny or engine issues

I'm testing the 10k oil change interval
On my tundra (I've always done 5k)
3 yrs & 12 oil changes is kinda nuts, huh?
Nice on my back & wallet though
I do all my own maintenance
I wish I could participate in the engine swap if & when I elect to do it, but that's not gonna happen lol

I'm eagerly awaiting the result from my blackstone oil analysis from my 120k mile oil change a couple weeks ago
    Currently approaching 123k miles
I need to catch 123456 on the odo!!!!

Yup, I owned a 2022 Tundra and got it in December before a lot of other people did. I did a ton of videos and articles on that truck.

The oil change intervals always gets a lot of opinions. I just agree to whatever mileage someone thinks is best. I've done videos on that as well interviewing oil companies and engineers. The comments are FULL of "well I do X,XXX or XX,XXX miles." Everyone seems to have a theory on it. I figure those are the people in the minority and most people will just follow whatever the dealer or owner's manual tells them to do for oil change intervals.
