You can install lifted springs on those 4600s. You don't need to buy anything other than taller springs.

sorry, but can someone direct me to the thread that explains the setup for 5100 struts using stock coils for the near level look for the 1GT. I've searched and keep ending up here or another thread that is a few years old

I knew i had seen this somewhere on here for the 5100 settings w/stock coils. Guess I should've kept searching for another few minutes before posting my help question.

My next question will be naturally be is it unadvisable to use the fifth clip position (highest setting) with the stock coil? (Double Cab 2wd)

From reading i have done, i gather the Eibach adjustables are supposedly softer riding than the Bilstein 5100 adjustables. I cant say i have driven both but that seems to be what i have read in all the back and forth i have done.
Eibach on the lowest setting is basically stock
Each ring on the Eibach is about +3/4" higher in the front.
The Bilstein has a similar ratio of each clip being a certain height of lift over stock.

Ride quality suffers. You're preloading the spring the higher the clips you go. It's a lift spacer from the bottom.

He shows you a real life example of WTF happens when you use clips/spacers.

The reason for this is the axle angles on the 4wd front CVs, the higher lift will hyper extend the inner CV axles, also eats the boots up from running the acordian style boot at such high angles, and overheats the CV to the point the grease gets so hot it will off-gas and build up pressure inside the boot and will make the boots expand and sometimes pop the boot off the inner CV.

If i kept my stock coils, I was going to go with the forth notch. But, on my tacoma with 5100s uses a 600lb Eibach lift coil on the second notch. I've read about some who used the OME 2884/2885 coils on the bottom or second notch. Would I be better off in the long run then using the lift coils, like I did on my Tacoma? If so, I know the instructions state to use only the bottom notch, but I see some of the lift websites selling kits with the 5100 on the second notch.

just to clarify, mine is 2wd. Not having to deal with the CV axle issues
