Quick question and hopefully someone will know.

I am having the Dobinsons IMS lift installed on my 3rd gen Tundra. I pieced together some parts from the TRD kit too, in order to correct geometry.

My Question is: will the stock tie rod end/ball joint fit into the lift kit lower knuckle. Or do I also need to get the TRD kit outer tie rod ends/ball joint? I really didn’t want to buy those and the sleeves since it was approximately another $400.

Does anyone have any experience with these parts? I hope the question is clear enough.

If you are simply using the Dobinson IMS Lift, you do not need anything other than extended axles if you don't already have the TRD Off-Road Red Axles.

Also, the lower knuckle does not have anything attaching to it other than the lower ball joint for the lower control arm. Everything else attaches to the LCA.

    thank you.

I have purchased the extended axles as well. So the lower ball joint should fit the lower knuckle?

I am finding I probably did not need the lower knuckles, I bit on the Toyota recommendation and already own them, unfortunately. So I guess they can’t hurt, right?

I do appreciate your response. Thank you!

The lower knuckle attaches to the bottom of the spindle. The lower ball joint then attaches to the lower knuckle.

The biggest difference in the lower knuckle from the TRD 3-inch Suspension Lift Kit is where the steering stop is located.

Thank you. I was under the impression by Toyota that it had some other mysterious power too. They told me it corrected camber, so I bit.

I appreciate the time you’ve taken to respond to me.

Hi All. New to the forum so I hope I’m posting this in the correct place. I too am “piecing” together the components of the Tundra TRD Lift kit. I have not been able to find the lower knuckles from the TRD lift kit. Any advice you have on sourcing would be greatly appreciated!

    The parts are:
PT981-3432B Tun Lower Knuc Att Left-hand
PT981-3431B Tun Lower Knuc Att Right-hand

I just googled that and appended lowest price to the search. I paid $66 each.

word of caution. Even though the parts depots say the front spring is available, it will not ship. That part made me ultimately go with Dobinsons kit with the pieced together parts for geometry.

Thank you for the part numbers! I was using the part numbers from the 2022 PDF which are TP981-34310 and TP981-34320. I am also going with Dobinsons springs. 3” front springs C59-838-R and 2” rear springs C59-841VR. Thanks again!

I was stumped like you were until I saw someone on here selling a partial kit and noticed the B. I asked Toyota and they said it meant Bulk but they’re the same part.
