What do you have against mesh?

 

I have a fat head and don't like how it feels. Mesh hats are, to my knowledge, exclusively plastic snaps in the rear. Another personal comfort issue for me.

Most snaps are the last one for me, or just too small. I don't usually bother anymore.

 

Yeah I get it, I don't like the fit of most hats. I usually find a keeper from 1/20 that I try on.

 

L/XL fitted are too tight for this guy. I haven't found a XL/XXL yet

Hi all, I have not been able to keep up with you all very much but I am writing an update. My rocket launching through the Chicago area turned out to be the opposite of that in a lot of ways. Interstate 80 East left a lot to be desired, and I was pretty confused by the state of things out there in the big world.

Lots of construction zones with low speed mandated. A lot of effort into it. Big banners and signs telling everyone to slow down and others with phrases reminding people to consider safety and try to drive like decent human beings. No one was doing that. I was the only driver going a mere 5 MPH OVER the posted construction limit. These were real actual construction zones. From there, it was a sliding scale shitshow of debauchery with everyone including semis hauling ass, hyper speed mode, and weaving through each other for what the fuck I don’t know why. To get somewhere 5 minutes faster or settle a score in their mind. Several accidents, one with a semi that had burned by being hit by a bigger semi. I’m glad to have made it past this disturbing place alive.

The toll road, really long toll road. It’s automated these days. In the truck I can barely reach the button to get a ticket from the booth, and then the ticket spits out above me because it thinks my truck is a semi rig. So I am unbuckled standing in the truck through the window like Bo Duke grabbing the ticket from the “upper deck” where the ticket spits out. This is after an automated voice keeps saying “take the ticket from the upper deck.” I’m like, what the fuck are you talking about.

The salt, holy shit the sides of the roads have enough salt powder on them to keep Dennys in business for 5 years. This seems like a bad idea.

Don’t pull off to use the bathroom in South Bend. Notre Dame may be there, but I will not be able to unsee that gas station bathroom.

Anyway, I need to go to bed. It’s eastern time zone here in Archbold OH. I didn’t realize that, so I’m ahead on time. The 91 octane gas was good, but I didn’t get to flex it much. I don’t get 89 in the Fort. Only 91 or 87. We have been mixing it up with some 89 a bit along the trip. My 87 days are sadly behind me.

Funny enough, work gave me a couple hats for working the holidays (like I had a choice LOL) and they are actually great. The label in them is for 47Brand.com so popped over and found that I can get plain jane unbranded (except for a '47 for the hat brand itself) hats just like the ones work gave me. I am please with this, because comfy hats are hard to find. I'll probably buy one of the red ones pictured below because I know some idiot will think it's because the the 47th president, when it is simply a red had from 47 Brand. The fact that this may "ruin their whole day" is hilarious to me.
