Thanks for that. Having tow mirrors are pretty pointless if they don’t work. I miss having them and want to find a replacement. Either that or just need to invest in apology gifts for what I say to the wife while backing the camper up….

Hey NWTundra22, can you tell me the dealership that installed your mirrors? I have called multiple dealerships and the Toyota Customer Care 800 number and no one was able to help. I've already sunk the money into the mirrors and additional switches and the dealership doesn't know what which harnesses would be necessary. Or could they strip the mirrors' connectors, replace connectors and add two power leads for the extend and puddle light features? Customer Care nor the Regional Tech Service Rep doesn't know how to guide them. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

My '23 1794 TRD came with tow pkg., but non-tow mirrors. Bummed to find out the cost of swap. Funny part is, it's less than $300 if they order it that way. Toyota has so many restrictions on combinations. No power boards or bed step with TRD option, 6.5 bed not offered on several trims, must have hybrid for a Capstone or TRD Pro etc. etc. I flew 1300 mi. to pick up my truck, because I wanted specific options. Didn't get colors I wanted, or the tow mirrors, or the power bed step. I would have paid for rear air bags too, since I loved them on my Ram dually's. Not available.

Just ordered these! I’ve mounted them and plan you try them out around town. Towing two trips with them next month. From just seeing them in the driveway they look really good!

Are They easy to take off and on? as in you can just pop them on when you need to tow and pull them off after? Or are they more permanently mounted with double sided tape?

Super easy. They have a video on the etrailer link above. You just slip them over the top of the mirror from the front, rotate down, then pull up on the lock on the bottom. Takes like 5 seconds per side.

I test drove these around last night. They don't bounce around like the strap ones I had before. Worked great on the freeway. I'm really impressed and happy to find these. Tow mirrors were a point of stress towing my TT the last two years!

I don't see a cut out for the camera on the bottom of the mirror. Does anyone know if there is a hole for the camera?

Video on etrailer site says works with blind spot detection and cameras.

I just got the trailer mirrors as well, no interference with the cams. There is no "hole" for the cams but there is a cutout and the cams are more inward than these mirror extenders reach.

Uh oh. Did you research this forum before buying the oem tow mirrors?

To my knowledge the oem tow mirrors are not plug and play. Tow mirror equipped trucks come with a completely different harness from the factory. From what I've researched you'd either need to completely replace an interior harness or have a custom wiring job done to get them to function correctly.

I have seen a video from Ed Martin Toyota where they changed the door wiring harness completely , which is not that difficult , the only thing that I have to figure out is how to connect the mirror extension and perimeter liting buttons . any thoughts ?

Looks like you have your answer there homes.

First step buy the $4743 kit from Ed Martin. Swap the mirrors, pull the door cards, then just take off the doors to swap out the harness's, put in your extension and lighting buttons, put the doors and door cards back on, and fire up techstream to recalibrate the cameras. Easy peezy, shouldn't take more than a weekend.

Great Youtube video though. @Tundra 108 Maybe Give Ed Martian a call to see if they will just sell you the harness??

$5k holy crap, plus that's a lot of work. I'd try the $75 snap ons first, they work fine for me.

Hi guys, I successfully swapped the mirrors to the OEM towing mirrors, however i can't get the backup lights to work , more than likely there is a fuse that has to be plugged but i couldn't find the spot ...?! Also , does anybody know how do I connect whit the vehicle to be able to adjust the mirrors settings so I can have a complete 360 view .... ? is this a dealer thing ...?

Anyone have any feedback after some use of the etrailer snap on mirrors? Do they scratch the paint?

I'm not spending $5k and a trip to the dealer for OEMs. It would be nice, but not THAT nice.

I'd rather install a TRD lift, Wheels and Tires for that $$

I do. See posts 67 & 69 above. I've been using them for over a year now when we tow our travel trailer. They're fantastic! No scratches or blemishes to my mirrors from using them. They have a soft material on the inside and a soft "spring" that works to keep them from being plastic on plastic.

This is exactly what I am looking for. They don't look bad for tow mirror extensions from your pictures. Alot of accessory tow mirrors look really dorky, imo.

I'll order up a set today.

I agree. I had the strap on ones before these, they sucked! Bounced around so much they were worthless. These are nice and firm, look pretty darn good, and are under $100. Functionally, they work fantastic!

2nd that. I initially bought some used strap on universal tow mirrors on FB. They were okay but bouncy and I had to strap them so tight they pulled up the end of my oem paint protection film on the mirrors. Then I bought the plastic etrailer ones same as @Dfrink above and they are prefect for my needs at 5-6 times per year for the same price I paid for used lame ones.
