    Hi All,

I have a '23 Limited with the standard (black shocks) suspension. I wanted a softer ride but these are too mushy and rides like a barge on the freeway.

Are the 4600s a straight swap or will other parts need replacement? Talking to the salesman at the dealership and he's trying to talk me into the 6112. I don't offroad (too old) anymore and just want a firmer ride on the freeway. I'm also assuming it will need an alignment after?

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yes you will need alignment after front suspension work.

4600 will firm it up some, stock height replacement.

5100s, 6112s are low cost options for some lift up front, height depending on how they are set up installing. 6112s probably control better, but either of these will be significantly better than the original black shocks. The Toyota black shocks are the weakest offered, mushy, wallow handling, and dont really control the heavy truck very well.

Thanks for the reply. I just didn't want any surprises. The salesman I talked to is really pushing the 6112s but I don't see Bilstein offering them for the 2023 at this time. I don't offroad anymore and just want a firmer ride/no lift on the freeway. Thanks again.

Just wanted to mention that I had the Bilstein 4600s installed on my 2023 Limited. The salesman tried to convince me to upgrade the spring too. I declined. He kept insisting that the 4600s were the same shock as the black Tokicos.

The ride is noticeably firmer but it's not bumpy. I think the control of the truck is much better on the freeway now. It no longer "wallows" when you hit a series of dips. I'm very satisfied.
