~235k, but it had been shuddering since about 190k (at light acceleration around 20mph) also I found out tc’s are factory known issues on 2007 & 2008 models

ultimately I put shudder stop in the transmission and it completely got rid of the shudder but then causes a code to be set eventually (P2757)

2 years later the remanned tc started shuddering so I put shudder stop in again and it was fine for about a year and then the same code set

flushed atf and shudder came back but code went away

    Some.
Replaced the exterior window seals on the doors, which was a PITA.
Also put on some tow mirrors. Ordered these as Toyota manufactured, but they ended up being Chinese. Seller tried to say it wasn't his problem, so I took it to Ebay since I confirmed with him before ordering that they were in fact Toyota. After he agreed to refund 2/3 what I paid him, I ended up paying $89 for the mirrors. I'll use them until I get OEM mirrors (probably hit up the pick-a-part yards to find a good matching pair).
    20250129_120741.jpg
Don't mind the gap at the top of the mirror at the door, I used a torch to heat the plastic and push it closer to the door. It had a broken molded tab that went to the metal bracket, I fixed that using a soldering iron and piece of scrap plastic from a bucket. The missing tab allowed the plastic to warp.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the 13” radio replacement after the first one I ordered got lost in transit (thanks USPS, you’ve had a bad run with my stuff lately).

I gotta say, it’s pretty freaking amazing lol

it took a couple hours to install, but the video from the phoenix website was really easy to follow along to get the right stuff plugged in.

I must have messed something up when I tried to push everything into place, I ended up having to disconnect it all, test the power with the original radio, and then put it together a second time. I plugged in leads for a backup camera and a front camera, to be installed soon.

fount the cabin air filter while I was running wires around, it was packed with dust and fuzz, probably hasn’t been changed in 10 years at least if ever. Had to scrape a huge dust bunny out of every fold, will be getting a new one ASAP

edit to add. Ive never had a decent head unit before, so this thing goes above and beyond my expectations just out of the box, and I know I can install all sorts of stuff on it. I was able to edit the vehicle shown on the Home Screen to my own truck haha

Replaced the rear rotors and brake pads after feeling like my brake pedal was starting to feel very soft. Ship said the fronts were fine but rests needed replacing. Still feel like system is too soft.

thinking I should try and bleed the fronts and see if there air in the system? Or maybe even look to see if the master cylinder is bad?

My brake peddle is very soft. Peddle goes down almost to the carpet. Both the Toyota dealership and the mechanic at the corner garage said that's normal, nothing to fix. But, I sure hope I don't need to stop suddenly.

So maybe it’s all in my head. I’ve been driving my Jeep more lately so it’s possible the Tundra just feels weird to me now, but it’s been like that the whole time.

It's been rainy off and on since that last cold snap here, and my routes seemed to be especially muddy/dirty (mostly paved surfaces). My poor truck has been filthy for too long, so I gave it a wash.

There was a gorgeous sunset behind me as I took this shot that provided some unusual fill lighting. It had an interesting effect.

Is it squishy or is it soft? Brake pedal feel comes from the rear calipers, not the front

when you press the brake pedal and hold it does it bleed down further after you’ve already stopped?

That’s not normal, tundra brake pedals are generally pretty firm

    I see.
They said it's because the Toyota callipers have a lot of 'travel' to plant pads on the calliper.
I replaced everything, lines blead, still the same issue.
    It's not safe.

I’ll try it out next time I drive. It feels like the first time I go to use it, I have to push it far and feels soft the whole way. Then I’ll press it a second time and it’s firm.

My truck is the same. First press, brakes are ok, medium firm pedal. Press again, firm pedal and perfect brakes. I haven't done anything about it yet but I suspect it could be rotor runout pushing pistons in, old hoses, old fluid or a bit of air in system. Maybe a combination of all the above lol

Tipsovr, please see my entries above at Feb 2, 2025 at 6:30 PM and Feb 3, 2025 at 4:48 PM regarding my 2012 Tundra brakes.
I've got 5" of travel on my brake pedal until the brakes fully engage, I'd say.
    That's not safe.

Finally secured my truck gun. When Lock-R-Down from San Antonio went out of business about a year ago, I thought I'd waited too long to get a console safe to secure my weapon and mags. But there is this one alternative, and I think their product is similar to the one that Toyota used to offer as an accessory. Made in China, of course, but solid. Anyway, added a couple sheets of 1/4" plywood to the walls, after scraping my knuckle pretty good when checking the fit when I first got it. The top frame, welded to the body, has some very sharp edges. The plywood liners took care of that. Magnets for the mags, and a Kydex holster that I was able to modify to hold the M&P9. I carry an M&P Shield 45, and there are extra mags for that too. Storage under the knicknack tray, of course.

My ‘19 jeep either. Bought last year and even with near perfect credit the interest rate isn’t great.
