I'm about to find out just how well NHOU has worked. The oil pan broke free without any issues, so fingers crossed for the trans pan, too.

I like to run a wire brush across the open bolts, penetrating oil night before and if they don't budge a good hit on the head as mentioned. Living in a salt free area helps too.

Also helps if people don't just walk up with an impact and go to town. Break free by hand and then you'll know if it needs extra attention. PB soak is usually helpful.

I don’t even want a valve body. It’s more of a need, as a preference of paying 1k now vs 6k later when the trans smokes prematurely.

That’s my thing. Back when hot rodding diesels was new (circa 2001) I took a stock dodge transmission to well beyond what it should have survived with just a valve body and learning not to lug the motor down and how to use the power. 1000ftlbs of torque at 1500rpm will destroy things quick so learning to drive it was prudent to a broke college kid.

Does anyone have the valve body already or is it the new shiny thing everyones excited about?

I don't even have an ETA from whipple yet.....would a VB be like a day1 kinda thing?

Also, is the deposit part of the price or on top?

No input after dropping the injectors except they were wrong. I explained they are different but work, that cost 3 hours. He drove it home so at least it runs.

So they didn't even swap them in, or didn't report back to you if they did or didn't? I would think it would need a tune adjustment, going from 650's to 750's, but might not be that far off.

I assume they installed them, but they never called or texted. The truck is at his house so I know he drove it home & he hasn't been this week until today.

Deposit is separate from the valvebody. It doesn’t need to be a day 1 thing.

This is why I hate letting others work on my vehicles.

Dude last time I bought a valve body and pan it was $500. I could do a full billet triple disk converter with a billet trans and shafts for $6k. Shit is $$$ these days. But it’s still cheaper than a Vette so can’t complain to much.

Its not required but a built valve body will extend the life of your transmission. The ab60 VB doesnt seal well over time and will develope a loss of line pressure or wont hold the clutch packs under acceleration causing trans failure.
There are valve body upgrades from IPT/Level10 and Wholesale Automatic Transmissions. Myself and a bunch of others run IPT/level10. They all use either Sonnax and Transgo kits for the upgrade. WAT is out of Australia and has been doing AB60 and valve body rebuilds for a while and has a strong following down there. They now have a few distributors in the US that makes it less painful to get. I don't know if anyone is transition from one built VB to the WAT but wi be interesting to see any comparisons. Either way a built VB can help!
Price is on par with all built VB's. IPT is $930 plus $700 core

I now factor all my financial decisions (Tundra or otherwise) by comparison to a tank of Tundra gas (or several tanks)...

In other words, valve body is about $820 or ONLY 8 or 9 tanks of Tundra gas :D

    PS>>> :hattip:
