Nothing like watching these guys fly through your yard.. I was hoping it would not sink in the sand... and in fact, it did not

 

Big dump of snow here late last week and over the weekend. We've been under a parking ban so they can plow our street since Sunday evening.

My neighbours either didn't know about the ban or don't care so at 10:30 last night, peace officers were knocking on doors and making people move their cars.

As of this morning, the street hasn't been plowed yet.

 

The spring melt has started. I think that Punxsutawney Phil didn't really see his shadow and it was a set up. Probably AI. We set record highs that last 2 days.

 

I wish I could say any of that shocks me, but it does not.

 

Beaucracy at its finest.

 

The kicker is that we don't even have enough snow piled up on the street to justify plowing, in my opinion. They usually do a good job but this is one time when I would say they could just leave it for a while.

 

Your neighbors better be thankful they got the opportunity to move their cars.
Around here (primarily the Twin Cities; Minneapolis/St. Paul) if you're parked in a snow emergency route and the plows are out, you won't know it until you wake up and your vehicle has been towed. Then you're paying a fine for that and more to get your car out of the impound lot.

Thankfully I'm far enough outside of the Cities I don't have to deal with that nonsense.

It's really not that difficult. I get a text message, two emails and a notification from the county's emergency alerts app every time there's a parking ban.
