My 23 platinum does this on the driver seat back badly. Any TSB out yet?

I had mine in for the driver and passenger seats. The drivers side went first and they ended up using a dry lubricant and it went away. I asked them to do the same on the passenger about a year later. So far it has solved the problem.

Where did they apply the dry lubricant?

Do you know what dry lubricant they used? Graphite powder maybe?

My drivers side seat heater went out and when there I showed this this thread actually and they did the extra wrapping that is someone else shared about and I've not had any more issues. They didn't complain or give me any issues about it but there wasn't anything official. It's of course possible they were more willing to do it since they were already in the seat for a warranty issue.

I read through my service report and they did not specify. Just said "dry lubricant applied"

Toyota released a TSB for this issue in Dec 2024. Here is the TSB link. Mine goes in Tuesday to get the fix. Here is the post from the Tundra Facebook Group:

There’s a TSB out now. We used to just lube the highest eyelet the seat back “spring” runs through. But now there are redesigned eyelets that get installed. It’s wild to me how oblivious dealerships are. This has been a problem we’ve encountered for quite a long time with our own repair until Toyota addressed the part issue.

If anyone takes theirs in, keep us updated on the length of the repair and how successful it is. Their first attempt to “repair” was unsuccessful with the lube, but it’s not very noticeable in cold weather. So I’ll probably wait until it warms up before taking it in. I can certainly see them denying the work because they couldn’t reproduce the creak.

Mine did this when I first got it. I noted it to the dealer and they said there was no fix at the time. Seems mine went away after awhile, but this is good to know. Wonder if they would fix mine now that my 2023 has 50,000 miles on it? It was noted on one of my service visits around 10,000 miles.

And really shitty dealers would keep your truck for a few days, do nothing, bill Toyota for the repair, and tell you it was fixed. You'd be none the wiser. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time if I couldn't verify it was done. It's not like it's a safety recall.

So it's been a few days since I posted after have the TSB performed.

I am proud to say no more creaking. I highly recommend everyone go and complain to their dealer and reference the TSB I posted above.

How long did it take? And did they do it at the dealership? When I brought mine in for their unsuccessful first crack at it where they just lubed it, they actually took it to a nearby upholstery shop that does their warranty work for seats. Ended up being without the truck for two days.

TSB calls for two new upper clips to be installed on the frame. Dealer did in about an hour

Here is a copy of the TSB PDF if anyone wants to read up on the repair.

Shit. My dealer took 4 hours to do the 10k service. Basically, that’s an oil change and tire rotation, and they replaced the radio knob. That took 3.5 hours. They gave it back with 5 lug nuts on the right front rounded off. Took another 30 minutes to replace them when I bitched about it. No way in hell I’ll see these clips replaced in one day by these clowns.

Ouch. I hope you have another dealer you can start to drive to. I drive to a different town because the one in my town is useless. Gave me my taco back missing a lug nut like you had happen. I bought my tundra somewhere else and it's worth it to go out of my way.

I laughed but I'm not either and had an annoying creak in mine. It would do it just stretching in the seat at a light. Seat heater went out last winter and I showed my dealer the original fixes in the thread and they fixed it at the same time.
