I knew I forgot to pick something yup when I was at the inlaws... I want to trap these feral cats on our property and the trap is over there. They are smart enough to bolt when the door opens. I tried popping one with the golden boy but they go right for the thick brush.

I don't feed any, but I won't shoo them off. Unless it turns into a clowder and random midnight cat orgies...

Well fed cats will hunt for fun. They're more effective at rodent reduction if they are fat and happy.

Confirmed 3. The issue is one of the males in not fixed and the other male is spraying to mark the territory. I do not know about the female, but I want her gone. I do not want baby kittens. I also found fleas in the yard which is what set me off. We have lots of tree rats but I havent seen any rodent rats.. I want a "barn" cat, but I do not want the image quoted above lol.. If i can catch them, they all get flea collars.

I like outdoor cats for rodent prevention but it's a constant battle for me against the family to keep them outside hunting. :angrygirl:

Yeah. I was going to get one today at the urgent care, but all they had is the TDP shot. I'm allergic to the pertussis one so can't do that.

I like cats, but they are assholes. You can raise one from a kitten for 15+ years and I swear it's still plotting ways to kill you.

When I was in Tanzania the leader of our group said “there are cat people and there are dog people but in Africa everyone is a cat person”. That is because all of the cats are beautiful fast and agile. And they have many of the same mannerisms as domestic cats.

I can't imagine growing up without having pets. I was lucky enough to have multiple dogs and cats and even a pet skunk my dad bought me when I was 10, best pet ever. Sharing your life with animals is a gift, and I am grateful they were part of it.

My general routine for dinner Monday - Friday is cooking up a large batch of food either on Saturday or Sunday and then reheating a portion each night for dinner. This week I had made jambalaya with 2 lbs of spicy linguica as the protein for the first time.

Nothing fancy, just two lbs of linquica browned, 3 packages of Zatarans Jambalaya rice mix with two can's of diced tomato's with diced chili's. Brown the sausage and then combine everything and boil/simmer.

I inadvertently stumbled upon the world of resistant starches! Since switching over to the jambalaya, I have lost some weight over the course of the week and have experienced a drop in "bathroom drama".

I guess when rice is cooked and then cooled for 12 hours or longer the molecules change and your body doesn't break it down as much as freshly steamed/cooked rice and it passes through your digestive system acting more like fiber than freshly steamed/cooked rice.

Anyone else experiment with resistant starches? Seems like potato's often come up when doing a net search.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I have heard that refridging cooked rice changes the metabolic-ness of it.

you are now a fine specimen of proof.

It's a wonderful time to be alive
Be careful with reheating rice. 99.9% of the time it's fine, but I'll just leave this here:
How Reheated Rice Can Make You Sick | Right as RainYes, reheated rice syndrome is real. Here’s how to avoid it so you can eat your leftovers in peace.
