I paid him Friday because "It was done"

BMW engine builder just called, it's ready shame I would have to risk damaging the 3k mile Bronco & incurring the Wife's rage if that happened to get it now.

    Too pretty to be assembled.

Jay from Wholesale quickly redirected me to Johnny when I asked if he could explain the pricing on the site, shipping, taxes, etc.

I pinged Johnny again about this thread for his awareness.

That $250 is a substantial number and I get your perspective. I see your math. I know my invoice. While I recognize there could be a small delta, I'm not seeing the size of the disconnect that you are. Full transparency, I'm also kind of numb to invoices right now and I'm beyond done with viewing carts and waiting for responses. :)

You have ramps to get it on your flatbed, right? Just match AAA towing rates and I bet you get yourself a job. :)

I have basic AAA, it's been 30 for 3 miles over the free 5, so that's over 4000!

Yeah, I get it. I also didn’t know you already pulled the trigger. I’m just weighing out options since we probably have 5 people here that want to buy a valve body from somebody relatively soon.

I could be interested in one also. With the stage 2 turbo kit delivering tomorrow and my penchant for blowing up transmissions, might not be a bad idea to put one in now.

Might make sense to start a list of interested parties just for easy share/reference.

1-2 sales vs 5-10 is a substantial swing.

You can always just call/email them and ask. Speedmaster gave me 10%. New England Gear Polishi said no since they already have low prices and they are a veteran owned company. Napa stopped asking if your a veteran and you have to ask for the discount.

Looks sweet! Are you going to change the setup and add more boost at all or just bolt it all back together the way it was? And sorry I am a little behind and I am sure you covered it a bunch of times. But what happened to the Sequioa? The engine let go?

As it sat, the BMW was pushing 10+lbs, more than enough. The forged internals were insurance for detonation (I'll be getting a real tune before I get into any boost)

No worries, there are soooo many posts it's impossible to keep up. The Tree dropped a valve. They wanted 4400 to do both heads or 3300 to r&r the motor. As it has 143k, I figured finding a sub 80k mi or so motor made more sense.

I found a 70K motor for 4k, and replaced everything that might break/is a pita to get at (torque converter, starter, alternator, sensors pulleys, so another 2k parts & extra labor) and got it back missing, not seeing the MAF/TB (sporadically) so it was towed back 2x due to no throttle pedal & driven back yesterday running like shit (Sniv can speak better to why)

I paid them in full last Friday when it was "done" now, they have an attitude like I'm making up the current poor running as they claim it has no codes. I'm at their mercy as my options are gimme fuck you, I'll take it elsewhere & sue for whatever it costs or leave it.

Today I'm leaving it, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Ah damn that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I hope they get it sorted out for you and not be a bunch of A'holes. And I'm sure 10 lbs in that little BMW probably moves pretty good.

So, the original ECU won't start the car now, they just called & asked if it was the original ECU. I said it was & that I need the ECU that the car has had for a year to stay as the Flex fucks up fueling.

    Just to set the scene...
You deactivated flex fuel from your system. Installed and tuned non ffv ECU. Replaced engine that is non ffv. Used your original ffv engine harness on the non ffv engine. Could it be the harness? I'm not aware of sensors that stand out as being a cause but should be looked into.

Won't start using original to the truck FFV ECU? The truck was started and ran with the FFV ECU and new engine prior to today? I thought they said it was running with no codes?!?

Running poorly is still running. If so, sure as shit seems like the only common variable is the harness...

How much for a replacement engine harness? Any Pick-A-Part cheap options?

When I installed the SC, I removed all the Flex junk. It still regularly thought it had 85% so I got a non flex ecu, it was fine, no e85 issues.

The cam solenoids on the new to me motor were damaged, as were the connectors (front of solenoids sheared off) the shop preferred to use the original harness.

Until today, it had the non flex ECU & original harness (flex) they want to blame the ecu as it's easier then messing with the wires (they claimed they were going wire by wire), I suspect after several hours of that they said fuck it, lets replace the ecu & I guess the key lost it's registration.

I called the yard & they are sending the ECU from the Tundra the motor came from. I also emailed HP tunes to ask if they will give me a break on a third set of credits on the same vin.
