How do you Sell your guns?

I've purchased a few guns from GB...

Research the seller: read reviews, go to Google and see if they have a store front and even call if you want.

Ask questions about the gun, if known, like round count, mfg box included, ect. Do your best to inspect the pics for issues like scratches and take screen shots for reference.

Search for other listings to compare current gun values. Is shipping included (standard ground or expedited)?

Who is your local FFL, are they in GB's system. Sometimes the seller will request a copy of their license.
Some FFLs won't accept from private sellers so they in turn will incur fees to have it transferred locally first.

The only real gripe I have is the typical 3% CC fee, but you can filter your search to remove those sellers.

 

Yeah between OfferUp and Marketplace, I've had my listings removed 3 times. They were just small miscellaneous parts, okay maybe a barrel here n there but yeah they remove your post and send you a nice email.

I have an AR that I've been wanting to list for sale but never knew how or where to get a big enough audience. Thanks all for replying. I'll likely be listing it on GunBroker once I make time to do so. I've never sold an FFL item so wanna make sure I'd do it the right way.

 

Okay well now I'm just a bit worried about seeing that the sellers store is showing "permanently closed" on Google and they aren't answering calls or my messages on GB. I'll try calling again tomorrow but I've got an open ticket with GB so hopefully this is just something that can be resolved.

Does anybody have any experience purchasing from Vanguard Arms?

 

Hopefully it's not a problem.

It could be that they had to close their brick and mortar and are doing 100% of their business on GB now. Hope it's just them being slow.

 

Yeah I'm hope so too. With an A+(1304) rating, I want to believe it's just them being a bit slow. They were really quick to send me the payment info though

I tend to sell mine on forums if I have something I want to get rid of. I'll post ads on ar15.com, akfiles, and falfiles. Selling generally isn't an issue as they typically sell within a couple of weeks.

Yes, check to see if you have a police precinct that provides a place to do your transaction. We insist on meeting there for any high $ or risky transaction. If the buyer balks we shut it down.
