Whatever this forum told me to do
    [

    on this we agree.

Vai is what you get if you throw SRV & Satriani into a pot & mix it up.

Tony Emmanuel is also "better". <who?>

I tend to appreciate guitarists that don't "waste notes".

Kirk Hammet wastes notes...he's not exact.

Tim Henson (Polyphia) <tying in Vai> is another good one, precise....freaky looking, but good. however, I just don't like his style. you can't really tap your toe to him.

I miss my coast line. I do not miss the traffic. Already smell of smoke as I just came in from throwing more debris onto the burn put. Sat there for a minute watching it burn.

    Beautiful view there!

LOL, nice catch! This is why I am moving all the wood offsite. It is literally the reason I am taking perfect for spliitng wood down the road. I do not want little man getting into the piles down here where spiders, snakes and wasps will be as soon as it warms up. So, we found an old man selling firewood for income and donated all the felled trees to him.

Once the barn is done, I will work on attaching a shed to it. Once the shed is done, I will move all my stuff into it.. creating a large play area for my son, mostly critter free.

I do not want him finding another one of these guys, especially if I am not around like I was this time:

Thank you! It is a work in progress, but we love it. The goal is to get to self sustaining capabilities, but time will tell. For now, the goal is to keep little man from unsubscribing.

They are allowed over yonder.. but if they come into this radius, I have special fast moving remover just for them.

Snake shot, or I think it is rodent shot now a days, is awesome.

Not a fan myself. That said, her oldest just moved 2 1/2 hours away to help out the youngest who's roomate experience went to shit faster than even I predicted. Getting to the point, she had 2 snakes, one of which she took with. The other...yep, we now have a new roomate living in the guest room. Some type of Boa named Kaa, of course. He seems pretty chill, just hanging out in his enclosure, but neither of us are completely cool with the idea. The middle daughter thats still at home has been annointed care giver., meaning feeding and watering, etc. We'll see how this goes for a short time but long term his no legged ass gotta go!

I never understood reptiles as pets. They're only marginally smarter than pea gravel, as cuddly as - well - a rattlesnake, picky eaters, and if they get lost they're either going to die and stink up the place or eat something nobody wants eaten. Maybe I'm just a curmudgeon.

Yeah, I don't get it either, but to each their own. It's not like he does anything cool, just is kinda there. The little corn snake she took with her is a mean little bastard. He will actually strike at the class of his enclosure if you tap on it. She says he has character, I say he needs to go in a wood chipper.

My FIL who has lived in FL his whole life has a good methodology of greeting snakes who venture into his zone. Spade shovel right behind their head. Works like a charm. And he has dealt with many a water moc...

yeah I'm a hater too. Hate snakes. And have no clue why people capture them. Just plain hibbie jibbies.

Our youngest thinks snakes are cool and has been asking for one as a pet for the last 5 years. It's always the same answer. You can have one when you provide the home for one.

I enjoy snakes. I've had several pythons, and corn snakes as pets before. I find them fascinating. That said, I have no desire to care for one again.

Off topic (as keeping with the the vibe in this thread) my brother (1.5 years younger) was admitted to a hosp yesterday, followed by (currently) a detox center. We are not super close. I have made it clear to him before (summer 2024 when he magically appeared back in our lives 10+ years later) that he will not see, or speak to our kids until he gets his shit straight. He then disconnected himself when I called him out on it.
His gf texted my sister the update this morning. Best of luck to him, but again - another reason why i chose to separate myself from alcohol. Addiction is a genetic trait.

    I know that motion well!

I am a bit different. I do not like spicy nope ropes and do not like them in my immediate area, but I actually try to let them thrive in the surrounding areas.

I used to use a shovel when I lived in the city, but out here, i just hit them with 22 snake shot and move on. I usually (for now) wont even pick them up so the birds can get em. That said, we have these around too and they are beautiful.

Sucks but I get it. We decided we are most likely going to go sober here shortly to not have that image in our kids mind.

Family is a wild card and I get shit for my views, but to me, blood does not define family.

I have zero issues with others drinking-none. I'm not sure our son (only 11, almost 12) will ever drink. He asked me on Xmas (I think) if I still do not drink, and wanted to know how long its been. Our daughter (18) fortunately, has never been a fan of alcohol. We have given her some here to try (as we would prefer it here rather than somewhere outside of our supervision or mixed with the wrong crowd.) She's super picky. On NYE, she thought the drink I made her (sprite/whiskey) was ok, at the best. The wife isnt a big drinker, but will drink when we are out with the neighbors (holidays, special events, etc). A couple of small shooters (she sips on them) and shes hammered, lol. Other than that, she could have a few and be done...I envy that. I always needed 6,8,10,+ if I started.

So much of that aligns with us. Especially that last sentence. Its why I went sober lite. after Vday, I will be surprised if we have another drink for months. I do not know what my son will do, he is only 5 months (on the 1st) but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

I can tell you what not to do, lol. Our kids saw me passed out on the couch numerous times, hammered. Apparently (i dont recall it, of course) I had once told our son one time to go play in traffic cuz he pissed me off. Now that...that is fucked.
On the contrary, maybe him seeing me in that state will reach across to him and he will decide he wants no part of it.
