2006 Tundra XSP is having overnight drain on the battery. In one of the fuse boxes is a large green fuse block listed as part number 82618-0C040. In researching it this is all I can find a small electrical component designed to protect circuits by breaking the connection if too much current flows through it, preventing potential damage to the vehicle's electrical system. States it may require periodic replacement. Does anyone know which components this fuse block protects.

I would start with a parasitic draw test on the battery.

Don’t guess. Perform a dark current draw test to definitively find where your draw is coming from.

All the above.....methodically pull fuses while testing.

If speaking of big green fuse highlighted, for your 06 it's a Integrated fuse....50A htr, 140A alt, 40A Defog....etc

I have done all this. When I disconnected the part 82618….. it showed no draw. How would I know if the part needs replacing or which parts it is protecting so I can look for the draw.

Bubba, we have done that and could find nothing. Yes it is the part you have circled. It shows a draw until I disconnect it then no draw. So is one of the things it protects causing my draw? Toyota states it should be replaced “periodically “. How do I know it needs to be replaced? If I know what it protects I can check those to see if that’s part of the trouble.

I'll assume that response to @KNABORES , @The Black Mamba and myself means you have performed a parasitic draw test with your VOM....correct ?
If so, what was the number you were seeing with all accessories off and doors shut, given our normal spec draw is approx 50mA ?

This may be more than you need but starting with the 05 they put their eggs all in one basket and used an 11 output Fuseable Link(FL). I'm personally not aware if you can or can not open up the Fuseable Link and remove the individual fuses ? So you will have to methodically deal with each output if not.

In pic below, I'm showing an example of 2 of the outputs where you can attempt to eliminate those 2 outputs by removing their respective fuses and relay that are all in the engine bay.
    .
    A few questions....
    • You know the condition of you battery is good ?
    • When this started, had you installed something that might have caused this ?
    • Do you have an OEM alarm system or aftermarket ?
    • Do you have anything plugged into your OBD connector ?
Attached also is the 2 page Power Source section for your 05 showing the 11 outputs and the circuits they protect. You can choose which output to start with and remove their respective fuses and relays. While one of the outputs feeds the alternator only(output 11 of FL), you'll have to decide when that is one you want to deal with by removing the positive connection of alternator(generator).
