I dislike sock wedgies. Strange fight or flight response to it. This is knotting my stomach up.

Get well. I had some sort of bug in November that lasted a few weeks. No Covid tests to check, but all symptoms except stomach/intestinal problem. Hearing was screwed up for months. If it was not Covid, I never had it or checked positive.

I was reading a random magazine in the doctors office the other day, and there was an article in there that said women should kiss and nibble on a man's ear lobes to turn them on. Personally I think it's just nuts.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I further pondered this over the weekend.

we were in the garage/gym around 9am Sat & Sun

    And it sounded really good.

so much so that it made the workouts that much better.

was it too loud...I doubt it. but as you allude to...bass carries.

so...I decided to satisfy me. and really we enjoyed the new sound.
    selfish...yup.
    alpha...yes.
I gotta enjoy this time on earth. I am.

yes, I will ask the neighbor when I see him....I asked him last year, and he had no issue.

When I asked my other neighbor, they are from Nigeria, he wanted to see the system. boys will be boys.

Days and nights? How does that even work?

I was apparently in Eastern Europe Summer Time zone. I just called it Istanbul, Turkey. Walked off the airplane here in Seattle at 11am on Friday thinking I was GTG b/c I got 10hrs of sleep on the flight (14.5hrs from Doha). My body had other ideas both Friday and Saturday night.

Well, my weird headaches seem to be easing up. You can skip the tome below if you don't like long stories - TLDR; I'm probably okay.

The diagnosis was Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. Basically too much pressure in my skull. Cerebrospinal fluid is supposed to flow around your brain and spinal cord all the way down your spine and throughout the dura around your major nerves. It's all just basically water flowing back and forth inside one big bag around your central nervous system. CSF normally gets reabsorbed into your bloodstream and filtered out in your kidneys; but if there's some kind of problem it can get backed up and pressure can build. All kinds of things can cause it (making it a 'secondary' symptom), or it can be idiopathic, which is just the doc saying 'Idunno?'. I have some stenosis in my c-spine, but the doc doesn't think it's enough to cause anything to clog. No MRI on the rest of my spine so far, but we'll see. Otherwise, I'm very healthy.

For the three or so months prior to last week I had a constant very-low-grade headache, not even enough for ibuprofen (until I got tired in the evenings). I also got a headache like being kicked in the head if I bent over, changed positions (like sitting down, laying down, getting up), or if I did anything more strenuous than walking around the house. Those kicked-in-the-head headaches would only last 30 seconds or so, then ease back to the low-grade headache. I was also mildly dizzy most of the time, and very dizzy at some random times. I was also confused sometimes (more than normal :p) at least a bit foggy most of the time, and got tired really easily. All of those are symptoms of Intracranial Hypertension.

Diagnosis required 5 MRIs (so far), and was supposed to include a lumbar puncture to measure the pressure. There was the possibility a brain tumor could have been the problem, but the MRIs came back pretty normal except for mild stenosis. After letting the doc know symptoms were easing, the LP was cancelled (I guess if symptoms are low, the pressure is likely not bad, so the LP wouldn't be useful).

Last week I noticed all symptoms were lessening day over day. I still feel about 2% different than normal, but no kicked-in-the-head headaches. I'm going to try to get back on my rowing machine today, and maybe if the weather holds I'll go get some steps in around the park. This is an illness normally suffered by aged 20 - 45 year old women, and there are a lot of folks that have it with really horrible symptoms, so I guess I'm lucky? Anyway, that's my long story for today.

Good question, and there's no friendly answer. If the pressure is secondary to some other problem, obviously it's just a matter of taking care of the problem. If it's idiopathic there's a drug - acetazolamide - that has some really shitty side effects, that is normally prescribed. My fear with any of that would be some permanent impact to a more active lifestyle. I want to stay as vital as I can as long as I can, at least carrying good health through my 60's. If this problem is going to flare up, it's going to impact that.

That's a pretty typical schedule here.

    M/T days, W/T nights, off for 5
    W/T days, F/S/S nights, off for 4
    F/S/S days, M/T nights, off for 5
    Repeat
