Oh, well if it was that would explain me getting it wrong now. I haven't looked at Tesla in a long while.

Cool that they dropped it a couple grand in price.

Today I got a good tour of a Tesla M3 performance, the features, and what these cars are all about. The test drive was sporty and can totally see what people want in a performance street car and what they expect from Tesla branded vehicles.

I have been in a Tesla before (maybe 5 years ago...or a bit longer) but never really was put through all the paces and features. I thought it was cool and back then the performance was pretty good. I couldn't even be 80% sure what kind of Tesla I was in before. Maybe a 75 or something like that.

Well todays test drive was inspiring...

The cars do pretty good donuts, drifts seem to be easy and controlled (wet and icy roads kill the fun though), low speed launches are not recommended if your bladder is rather full (so I've heard), traction is everywhere when you turn the stupid off.

Very comfortable and felt nice. When we move to our "next 20 year" home I could see us getting one of these vehicles. Talk about just having stupid levels of fun.

Thanks for the tour and test drive Sean @T-Rex266 :D...that was hella fun.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Road tripped the MXp, 178 miles one way

filled it to 100%. 313 miles

    no problems. Smooth cruiser

filled back up in temple buccees. Used the v4 charger

18 minutes for 240 “miles” of juice.

it was cold, so the charge limited to charging 500 miles per hour.

18 minutes is about the perfect amount of time to visit buccees.

Has anyone here leased through Tesla before?

All I see are horror stories online and folks saying you can't buy out at the end (which isn't true anymore according to their website) but I'm thinking it could be a good way to try out an EV without having to commit too much.

They only recently changed the buy out option. Because they lose resale super fast the buy out was never offered.

Another option would be to go to tesla.com and select used vehicles. They've taken big depreciation hits, and so long as it looks good on inspection it should be fine. Not much for the previous owner/lessee to screw up on them for maintenance or anything.

I don't like all of these "first" "launch" "YearONE" editions car companies are coming out with. Just a premium up charge for a later mass produced car.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    this.

the used ones are priced well.

when we bought our MSp in 2021....we looked at the Lease.

recall...this was at the height of the tesla prices.

at the end of the proposed 3yr lease, the buyout on the lease doc's was $80k.

uh...the market changed quite a bit in those 3 years. new ones are ~$90k

if you lease, you can get out 3 months early if you buy another Tesla.

please don't let this topic deteriorate into my depr loss.......please, I'm delicate.

I might wait until the new MY comes down $10k. I’m not one of those “gotta be first” types
I'd be big mad if I bought a used Tesla and it showed up with bald tires. Tires for those things ain't cheap

Good to know. I seem to go through vehicles really quickly and the allure of a lease of a Model 3 just to get my feet wet sounds nice.

Enjoy that rabbit hole. You can see what's in stock near you and the pricing, but be sure you uncheck all their "savings" crap to see the real prices.

After not seeing a Lucid for over 6 months, I saw two yesterday within 10 minutes. Kinda weird.

I don't get the interest in the brand..
