@blenton care to share your thoughts? Not like we take them seriously but you seem to have a thing for the guy, so.

I don't entirely disagree with Blenton's perspective - a lot of the things he wrote are true. Running a small business is hard; it requires skill at a lot of different things. There is a learning curve. People are so used to buying on Amazon, that dealing with a one man shop is different.

HOWEVER - the way that Casey handled this whole backlog is entirely mismanaged. Instead of apologizing, refunding, creating a no-deposit wait-list, and turning this into a win by showing customers that he is reliable and honest, he decided to double down. Lies about deadlines, making excuses, insulting customers - ruining his brand reputation.

I can speak only for myself, but I would have no issue if he simply came forward and said "hey, I bit off more than I can deal with. Here is your money back, if you still want the exhaust, you are spot #(whatever) in line, expect to see it in a few months. I will reach out when it is your time to order; feel free to reach out with questions". It seems like his product took off, meaning not lack of interested buyers - I suspect many of whom are willing to wait as long as there is transparency.

Part of a small business is managing and abating risk. He took risk by ordering material - which, if he was wise, would have been compensated for by prior sales.

This thread is the #4 result when searching for his exhaust. The longer this goes on, the more and more negativity will be put in here, discouraging future buyers.

I don't want the guy to loose his house or the shirt off his back, but keeping people's money without proving any reliable ETA or setting expectations is borderline criminal and should be met with a strong response, legal if necessary.

my initial response is pretty much what you’re saying. And my follow up response to his follow up was that I’m a small business owner - so I completely understand. You still have to do the right thing even when circumstances suck. Can’t deliver on a product or service because of whatever came up? Then return the money paid for that product or service.

Dang i just read most of the posts here and it reminded me of the Valhalla shield BS i went through a good while back. Took my money and ran with no replies. Good thing my credit card took care of me and then dealt with him.

Sorry that you guys had to go through all of this.

:eek:Just got done reading through this thread. Looks like he may have removed whatever video you guys posted so I didn't get to see it but your reactions pretty much sums it up.

I think the title of this thread should be edited.. Maybe something like... "[BEWARE!!!] Tig Weld Creations Exhaust":notsure:

My experience with him summed up. My exhaust has been received, still waiting on dump tip.

    1) ordered Aug 30, 2024 was told 6-8 weeks.
    2) Followed up on 10/16 - was told mine had to be made from the ground up with no update on time line
    3) Followed up on 11/13 - was told most likely by the weekend.
    4) Followed up on 12/19 - was told trying to get out before Christmas.
    5) He posted on Instagram being closed from 12/20-1/6. No shipping during this time.
    6) On 1/7 I asked for my money back and was told refunds are now allowed due all materials being order to make. I was then told my exhaust was ready and it was going to ship next day.
    7) I followed up again on 1/10 asking if it shipped. Was now told it would ship Saturday or Sunday. I asked for a picture and he said he would send one when he packs it up. No picture was sent.
    8) Received tracking information and was told "Dropped it off as the UPS store was closing." This was on a Sunday. The label was printed at 7:20pm Sunday evening. UPS stores close by 5pm or are closed all together on Sundays. He couldn't come up with anything when I confronted him about this.
Also, the return address on the label is some random address he uses, not his personal address. I also confronted him about this and he said it was an old address. The address on the label was a $3M house homesteaded to the actual owner for over 10 years. This casted more doubts for me. What if something happens during shipping and the package gets returned? Some guy living in a $3M house gets a box full of metal?
    9) Exhaust received on 1/15, installed on 1/17.

Overall, I'm glad I received what I paid for... Mostly. I feel he has a narcissistic personality and doesn't know how to not be dishonest. I would've rather been told up front or over the many times I followed up that it was going to take longer. I also feel his days of selling Tundra exhausts are numbered.

Ha. No, not a soft skin crybaby. Just went a little deep on that comment. I don't do business on social media for similar reasons - way too easy to be a keyboard commando on either side of the fence. I'd rather work with folks in person.

And, no, I don't know that guy. We're 1000 miles apart and have never crossed paths. I also don't embrace the 3rd gen silliness and am strictly in 2nd gen territory :D

You may think it's completely ridiculous, but I was thinking the same thing about many of the comments here. You are probably just getting the the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what's going on in that guys life. My opinion, based on my experience.

Ha, nope. I only know about him what I've read in this thread, along with some random bbq paint comments spread throughout. I don't know anything about his social media behavior which appears to be appalling.

Yeah I’m considering it a loss at this point! Happens. If I end up getting it - awesome. If not, that’s okay, and I know from experience, when people do things like this, it always comes back around. Not always right away - but I know if I wronged this many people, I would be expecting the worst to come back to me.

Guess I'm a little different....in that the lesson I learned was how to use the small claims court. One case resulted in the guy offering me 80% of what he owed once he was served...I agreed. Another I garnished his wages cause he didn't want to cooperate...took 18 months but I got all my money back plus all filing costs.

I saw the video before he took it down...tries to make the case of all the costs you'll have suing him, besides calling you a pussy. I say educate yourself on Texas small claims.

I gave him 1200CAD back in October, haven't heard from him since. Reached out a couple times and he's been saying it'll be shipped in a couple weeks... Gave the benefit of the doubt due to Christmas, Told me at the start of January that a shipment was going out 1st week of January, now he's saying 2 more weeks. Honestly if he's just backed up with work and I'm in line I'm totally happy to wait, but with all these comments & threads about people never receiving theirs it has me pretty worried. I'm in Canada, so I can't even really pursue him legally if I wanted to. As others have said, lesson learned, but I'm actually disappointed because I honestly wanted this guy to succeed, he's an amazing welder and he's really got a niche that he could go somewhere with but you have to be reliable and have integrity.

I went custom because nothing seemed worth the price or the sound wasn't what I was after. Kinda looking at dirtydeeds now though. Keith is semi local to me and he doesn't call his customers pussies

Been shopping exhausts for my buddy’s 3rd gen. Unfortunately I do not see this business surviving the long haul, which is a shame because I root for small businesses, and it looks like a decent product at a fair price point.
