I’m on the road for work and have not been able to dif into this yet and wanted ask some advice for when I do get home and get the truck parked..

Occasionally over the last week the voltage gauge has occasionally been bouncing very subtlely from just below 14v to just above. When this is happening and I turn my headlights on, or off, the gauges reset and the stereo turns off.
This is an intermittent issue, not all the time. Seems to happen when I’ve been driving for awhile.
Ground issue? Voltage regulator? Something else?

    2017, 5.7 4x4, stock stereo.

Go to an auto parts store and have your battery tested. Gotta start there first.

Just to elaborate, the battery gauge fluctuating is normal.

Auto parts store should be able to test the alternator as well.

If the battery is OEM, 100% chance you need a new one...load test it and check the CCA and that will determine your batteries life...exactly what @WhiteSR5 suggested...

New AGM last August, but I’ll start there in the morning.

If AGM, which are great if you throw a diode into your ALT-S fuse, they can wane of not charged or maintenance charged routinely...load test it and check your CCA to determine the battery life...I recently just did this (load test) and found my less than a year AGM, even with the diode/voltage booster, was part of a bad lot...replaced it and all.is dandy! God's speed!

Sorry for the piecemeal info, driving home from 3wks working on the road.

Installed the Voltage Booster Pro same time as I did the new battery, last July/August. My remote voltage gauge (Renogy) shows it putting out 14.5 to 14.8 consistently.

Hitting NAPA in the morning for load test.

Battery was leaking a little and only tested at 450 amps, vs the 750 it was supposed to be. Then it gave a few readings at random amperage’s and health percentages with repeated tests out of the truck.
In the truck the “health percentage” zero. Out of the truck it went from zero to 85% during repeated tests.
So, Optima Blue Top is in now and we’ll see how it goes….
