Well my 07 CM is sitting in the driveway with a dead battery, from all this cold weather we are having. Anyone with a recommendation for a replacement. The dead battery is 5 years old so rather than just take a chance with it I figured I get a new one. Appreciate any responses.

I like Costco's Interstate. Much less expensive also.

Unless you are looking to get a super premium brand, the majority of batteries are made by about 3 to 4 companies.

For your standard size and cold cranking amp batteries dont worry so much about the brand. It is the date on the battery. You want a battery that hasnt been sitting on the self for 6 months to a year. Stores dont maintain batteries.

Basically, you just dont want a battery thats been on the shelf for 5 + months.

As for brands, like mentioned above, Interstate is a quality brand and if it fits your budget its a good choice. I personal have an exide battery from home Depot. Ive never had an issue with it and i do work it a bit more than most with my stereo system.

Walmart and the part stores regular batteries are more or less the same. Imo.

I'm nursing my 11 year old NorthStar through the Winter. It stays on trickle charge while the truck sits for weeks at a time. I'll probably buy whatever supposed to replace it. Naturally the NorthStar isn't offered any more.

Interstate makes good batteries, And surprisingly, Walmart batteries were rated near the top in the 2024 issue of Consumer Reports. I put a Walmart battery in my daughters Camry so we will see.

I’ve had good luck with the walmart AGM batteries. Decent price and four year warranty.

I’m a fan of AGM batteries if for no other reason than the fact that they don’t outgas. My OE Toyota battery outgassed so badly that I had to clean the terminals off every two or three months and wash it all down with acid cleaner.

My truck is on its 2nd DieHard AGM, now available at Advance Auto. 7 years on the first one, four seasons, never park inside, zero issues starting in the occasional below 0 temps. Only downsides are additional cost (worth it to me) and more limited sizes and availability.

Else, if going for a lead acid battery, Walmarts are decent. I’ve used them in several other vehicles without issue, as long as they are used regularly. Periodic (longer than a week between starts) seems to kill them - as it does many batteries.

    Outdated battery technology.

We truckers. fishermens, motorcyclists have been running LiPO4FE's for the last 5 years now.

    Half the weight, 4x performance.

    Red top Optima?? LOL...

Lithium starter batteries are the future.

Hello, Marty, my diaper-dragging whipper-snapper... Glad to hear we've had flying cars since 2015. :D

As a mental exercise... the past is gone, the present is now, the future will never be.

...Unless you can figure out how to build a trans-dimensional bridge and safely deconstruct, then reconstruct matter on a molecular level for safe transport across that bridge... Einstein theorized such things, which we like to call worm holes, but those are simply natural occurrences of time-space folding over on to itself. Call me a hater, but I doubt you or I possess the requisite intelligence to command the cosmos in such a fashion, let alone harness the event horizon to project our present selves in to the future. Just sayin, your argument is flawed...

I've got walmart group 24 AGMs in both my trucks. 4 year free replacement for $170. Walmarts are almost everywhere if you need to replace it. In my boat i use Exide batteries from tractor supply

When did I recommend an Optima?
I recommended to the OP what works for me within a reasonable price range..

Wow, a lithium battery might save me .0000000000001 MPG being 25 pounds lighter.
    That's worth the extra expense..

I don't give 2 fucks about what you use.
    Show others the same respect..
You do you and don't feel the need to quote others that don't GAF about your BS.

    Sorry I offended your recommendation.

I'm assuming I'm not invited to your next hot tub party?

I was looking forward to the imitation crab meat and train set tour where you show everyone how you were touched by the LiPO battery.
