Accessory Console Tray anyone?

So they make an accessory tray for the center console of the 3rd gen Tundra.....
But as much as I look at the pictures, I can't figure out if it just sits on top of some rails or if it's hinged or what.

Does anyone with a 2014-up have one of these on their truck and can snap a couple pix?

I did buy the aftermarket center console organizer and think it's amazing, but every little extra bit of storage helps.

I don't have photos accessible at the moment but I can tell you that two rails come with the kit. You have to mount the rails with the supplied pop rivets. I would recommend it, I like mine.

So the tray just rests on those rails? You pull out the tray to access things below it?

The one I got you had to rivet a pair of rails in and yes you can pull the tray out. upload_2015-11-21_8-36-33.jpg

I also got an organizer upload_2015-11-21_8-37-34.jpg both from Amazon.

I also riveted those map holders in. Great for stuffing things in on the side.

And worth mentioning if you need it, the rails are sized for letter hanging file folders if you have a need for that.

Nice touch with the mesh on the sides!
That looks just useful enough I guess I have to get one.

    Thanks!

They really skimped on the center console. The best use of space is to have the style like my wife's jeep. There are two buttons on the lid. On opens up leaving the accessary tray down. The second keeps the tray attached to the lid to get to the main compartment

Totally agree. My wife's accord has the same exact setup.

My 03 Tundra had a nice center console... two tray lid with coin holder, nice open space in the console plus a hidden compartment above the drink holders and two side pockets on the outside. The new one definitely feels like a step back...

Mscroggi, I just got the one you have shown at the top (about an hour ago!). Fits perfect, has rubber non-skid mats to keep rattles down, and adds lots of easy access storage. It also slides front to back, covering a little over half the console opening. I'm very happy with it.

I have the top one also and love it. I still don't understand why it isn't a factory piece, as large as that cavernous console is.

I have a similar one and it works great. It’s not very big, but it is a good spot for stuff that would otherwise just rattle around in that huge console. It slides back and forth so you can get to everything underneath.

Ya, I just picked up that one as well . . . the factory one is pointless . . . covers up almost the entire console . . . I found reversing the above one works great. I still need to find some type of padding to put on the bottom so that it doesn't slide so easily.

I looked at the tray and for the life of me could not figure out what the cutout in it was for, but now seeing it installed, it all makes sense.

Beware: I had ordered the model with the cutout in it.. I recognized that it is lighter and shallower then the other one.. but since it is a little bigger, I ordered it. - the seller on Amazon was 'BeKool'. It was an Amazon Prime purchase.. and I was tracking it. It was supposed to arrive yesterday, but the status also said it wasn't shipped yet.. I sent a note to BeKool and received this response - 'Hello. This product is now sent from China. 3 days can send parcels. 15 days or so can be reached.' I canceled my order. I also noticed the page no longer says Prime. They must be making a killing on these console trays.. Searching for the same one in Amazon, they are selling that cheapo tray for $35, and many vendors dont show that it is in stock. I am seeing similar pricing on Ebay. Many of the vendors can only estimate you can receive the tray some time in the next 6 weeks. haahaa..

I found another seller on Amazon that sells both.. https://goo.gl/1kX9VK I ordered the other model tray for $23. It seems to be getting favorable reviews. Supposedly it is shipped in US and should arrive soon.

    The
The link takes me to the Ebay Motors page. Is it supposed to take me to an individual product? Which tray are you referencing?

Edit - I didnt realize the forum automatically substitutes links when sites like Ebay or Amazon are mentioned.

I see the trays on Ebay but they are mostly all shipping from China or Hong Kong, which was my original complaint. It will be weeks before it comes in. The cheapest 'cut out' model on Ebay shipped in US was $36. The other one is available though.
