That is a VERY good point !! :pccoffee:
I also use Android Auto for the maps they are always updated including the Traffic, My brother swears by WAZE for maps and traffic, also to alert you to the Police and Radar Traps.

My fob remote start stopped working 2 weeks ago. I recieved an update request asking if I wanted to not share my data. I select it and now my fob will not remote start my truck.

My remote won't remote start my truck. Used to work and now doesn't. Dealer told me it's because my subscription expired. Oh well.

My subscription was up back in June and the remote start worked until recently. There are posts from other owners that say the fob remote start works without the subscription. I think it has to do with me recently opting out sharing my info.

My key fob would not remote start my Tundra until I subscribed to connected services this week. Ohio has been blasted with the artic air like most of the country and I caved in and paid for the remote connect service...

To get the app to work, I had to go through the process of hitting the SOS button, declining that I needed emergency services, opting to be routed to connected services and went through the process with the operator to have my truck identified through their system. Lo and behold, my truck's key fob now works hitting the lock button three times!

I only opted to pay one time instead of recurring payments. I will see if the key fob will start the vehicle once the service expires next month. It is possible the fob did not work because I originally declined the "Connected services master data consent." I will allow this feature to stay activated. It is also required in order for the phone app to work. This experience verifies the hardware is already installed on the vehicle for the key fob to remote start the vehicle. Apparently you need Big Brother to watch you in order for it to work...

Of course. They make money selling Tundra usage data. Not your personal data …..they say. If you cut them off, they cut you off.
