I don't get it. The whole point of all the additional parts (aside from just the shocks, springs and upper control arms) is to correct the geometry and get the alignment back in spec with the new height.

Just because they "correct" it, doesn't mean the tech is aligning it well or that the machine has the most up to date alignment specs.

This would be my guess. The particular alignment rack is out of date or not calibrated correctly

I've had my TRD lift kit now for a month, and I can attest that my alignment is perfect! LOVE the way it rides and drives now! Totally different truck now compared to the stock platinum suspension. With that said, the Tech that put my suspension in, was very knowledgeable, mainly only does lifts of all kinds at my Toyota dealer.

Also, just because you see it listed for sale on these sites does not mean you can order it/will get it. You may be able to order and then they will cancel on you.

I've experienced this quite a bit when trying to order body panels and other items through some dealers. And it will just be cancelled, no explanation why unless you call and ask.

How is the ride compared to the platinum suspension? That's my only hold up on this, I really like the ride of the platinum.

From a stop or rolling, initial turns, steering feel feels smoother and easier! My guess from having 3" of more front suspension. My Platinum had the infamous pano sunroof rattle between the panels....It was the worst noise when driving 20-30MPH on like residential roads....pop pop pop, creak creak creak....AFTER the 3" TRD lift....NOISE IS GONE. That right their (hopefully correct use of their LMFAO) was worth it and shows how much more isolating the TRD lift is....Going over speed bumps feels about the same...Over all it just rides smoother if that makes sense! Plus having the higher ride height and the hood doesn't tilt down anymore, so the truck feels different overall.... LOVE IT!

Absolutely beautiful truck, man. I have the same color and trim. How has the gas mileage been since the lift? Also what tires are you running?

Yes, there's the paper definition vs how it drives, but at least the additional parts are there to make it possible to get all the measurements in spec. Experienced techs will know the nuances on how each adjustment changes ride and drivability.

Thanks! Tires are 275/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, LOVE THEM! Went with those instead of 35's. They are 34.1" X 10.8" and are 4ply. 35's are usually 8ply, so much heaver and stiffer. My MPG dropped from 19 MPG on long trips to 17ish with just the tires. Had those for 6 months before getting the TRD lift put on, and to be honest, my MPG has only dropped maybe 1 more MPG....BUT they kept my front drop down spoiler when they installed the lift, so maybe that's helping?? IDK.... If i drive my Tundra aggressively, hitting turbo every take off, going 10MPH over the speed limit on the freeway, it will easily drop down to 14MPG. If I drive more gingerly and just a little over the speed limit, ill get 16/17MPG....depends on my mood! HAHA!!

I paid $2500 for the TRD lift kit and $1400 for the install/alignment. Dealer had mine in stock, it was on hold for MONTHS for a different customer who then backed out.....I just called my local dealer's parts department for you (1/24/2025 @ 1030)....They said there is still issue with the Toyota shock compressor that Toyota sent out, and the kit is still on a stop sale because of this. They were able to put mine in because A) They had it in stock, and B) They have their (hope this is the correct use of THIER @sudobash) own spring compressor tool since they do ALOT of lifts. Hope this info helps!

Just got off the phone with brand engagement who said she was just told they’re not going to be offering it anymore. Bummer if true

That was not a bad price at all! Thanks for info and checking w your dealer. My quote (if to happen) is $5163 after tax! $2700 for kit & $2200 install. My dealer tech guy made a bunch of calls today as well and it doesn’t look good he said. So based on price point and no resolution in sight , I’m exploring other options.

I called customer engagement too and they said the same. I was previously told that I had a kit in order and install date scheduled, to no avail.

im going to stop waiting for this kit to rear its head am make other arrangements. Toyota is playing coy and has been pretty misleading about availability, imo.

You just get to use to it and know that they aren't always going to be forthright with a lot of things. They do end up making the vast majority of things right for the customer.
