Had a question. I have a 2024 TRD Pro Hybrid, and I just installed a Rough Country bumper. I ordered the bumper with a 20” lightbar and two 6” fog lights that all fit within their bumper. I have a Auxbeam 6 switch unit, but in every YouTube I watch they install the panel right by the battery under the rear seat. This kind of negates the usefulness of the unit so you don’t have to run a bunch of wires (some of them aren’t long enough anyway) into the cab. I saw a YouTube where he installed it on the fuse box over by the Hybrid motor on the passenger side of the engine bay, and he used the “positive post” on the fuse box and tapped into one of the fuses (ground was on the side wall not far away). Anyone heard of this as a solution, or have any suggestions. I also have to wire in the winch which came as part of the rough country package, but I think I’ll have to get longer pos/neg cables and run them back to the battery under the seat. Anyway, thanks in advance.

There's only one cord that runs to the switch controller in the cab. It's fairly long, they also make an extension for it. The other wires running from the panel will run to your accessories. I may be misunderstanding your question.

I installed mine by the battery under the rear seat. Everything I could find said using the positive post in the fuse-box was a bad idea. Running the wires back to the box isn't that hard. Hard-ER than staying under the hood, sure, but only an extra 5 min of time once you've done it once.

Thanks. I was wondering about getting a longer positive cable for the fuse box so I could keep it in the engine bay (by the drivers side fuse box so I can tap into the ignition fuse) and only have to run the controller wire and the bigger positive cable into the cab, but everything I’ve seen says to mount the fuse box as close to the battery as possible.

Sorry for the confusion. Normally you have your battery in the engine bay so all your accessories run to the fuse panel (also mounted in the engine bay) so the only wire you run through the fire wall is the controller wire. With my battery under the rear seat, and the overwhelming instruction to mount the fuse box close to the battery, now you have to run all those accessory wires through the firewall and along the kick panel. I can do it, but the engine bay is the cleanest in my opinion.

I contemplated using that "positive post" in the fuse box but decided that keeping it separate from anything Toyota could say caused a problem was easiest. Here's what I did with my wiring, totally isolated except for the one fuse tap for and ignition signal.

Question on that. The kit comes with the 60A breaker. That can be run by the battery and a longer cable run out to the engine bay and the fuse box. When I had a Four Wheel Camper, they ran a cable from the engine bay/battery from the engine bay to the truck bed with an inline fuse/breaker, and I had no issues. What would be the difference? Additionally, isn’t running a wire from the main battery to the truck bed what you do when you do a secondary battery in the truck bed?

Yes if one places the 60a breaker right there next to the hot batt connection then it protects the line all the way to whatever it connects to - that is the safety aspect of putting fuses/breakers right there an inch away from the battery.

This applies to all the scenarios you mention above. Go forth and prosper.

Oh ok, that makes sense. I missed the part about the hybrid battery location.
