    That's a nice pack.
I intend to rescue, but if possible I'd prefer my pack to be a JRT, rat terrier, and standard size Chihuahua. Maybe even a beagle for good measure.

He used to always have bigger dogs... A rot and pit at the same time, that rot was huge and mean. Then he had two pits, both where very chill especially the bigger one at about 85lbs. The smaller one passed and he started getting the chihuahuas, they would lay on top of the pit, it was kinda funny. His Frenchie sounds like a squeak toy every time he barks lol

Yeah, that was really our only requirement. Found a place on a lake with an outdoor and indoor setting, weather cooperated and we were able to have it outside. She was a good girl, she was about 1.5yrs old at that time.

We just rescued these two, Yobbo on the left and Harley on the right. Supposedly cattle dog mixes, but they came from the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, so they could really be anything. VERY high energy puppies! Our cats aren't impressed at the moment, but they will come around eventually.

Idk if this is the right spot for this question, but here goes-
I want to place something around one of the corners in our backyard fence that meets another house. Their dog, and our two big dogs will go at it, at the fence with the other dog. Any suggestions?

To prevent digging to get the other dog, or to prevent the 'kennel fighting' at the fence all together???

Super common. If there was no fence they'd have no issue. Look up fence aggression and how to deal with it.

Oh I know it’s super common, but I also don’t want to repair a fence nor run the risk of ther dog being torn apart like a rag doll.

My male is bad as well. I ended up taking old tin and putting across the fence so he can't see. It's getto looking, but works for me. Now no issues. IMG_1368.jpg

Privacy panels help because the visual aspect is lost.... These come in 4x5 or 4x10 panels. They are very durable and won't rot or deteriorate in the sun, weather, etc. and the dogs won't be able to scratch/bite/chew through the surface. You can order from most feed/ranch supply stores and have them delivered to the store. If you order online to have them shipped to you the shipping costs are stupid (especially for the 4x10 panels)...

    https://marvel-b1-cdn.bc0a.com/f000...ct/thumbnails/kpp04.png?v=0.47559225550370066

Farm Ranch Store has the large ones for $71...

You'll need to figure out something for the corner; maybe build a little 45 degree angle w/privacy inside of our actual fence.

Basically, need to keep them away from direct or near direct contact to mitigate the intensity of their desire to engage. This can also be accomplished by installing another fence or barrier several feet away from the main fence, which will help mitigate the intensity of the stimulus as they will not be nose to nose....

If you're wanting to 'train' throught the issue, you have to remember that your dogs are instinctually wired with high prey and fight drives and therefore it will take a significant amount of 'pressure' to create an avoidance of the undesired behavior. Re-direction generally won't work w/these types of scenarios as the 'value' of the reward or other activity that you're attempting to re-direct your dogs to is generally 'undervalued' in relation to satisfying their desired drive which is to engage w/the other dog(s)...

This doesn't mean it can't be done, but it will require some significant thought, planning and execution on your behalf so when you do add pressure to the equation you're not making things worse and increasing the 'fight' through the added pressure. Hit me up off line if you're wanting to go this route

Poor ol girl is still a lil loopy from having 3 teeth extracted. We go back in 2 weeks for another 2.

    IMG_20250125_173914881.jpg
Vet said she was probably abandoned because the owners couldn't afford to care for an elderly dog. Pisses me right off because it only cost me $40/week on a payment plan.

And oh yeah, she gets to keep the snaggly one:rofl:

    Poor girl.

Our dog had one tooth extracted a few months ago and he still occasionally chokes on his food if he's eating quickly. I think he forgets it's not there or something.

It got to a point she couldn't chew at all, when she'd bite down her jaw would chatter.
