Does not surprise me. While I love the demello front bumper on my FJ, they tried to screw me over with my Tundra order. Waited 9 months for my order to be ready to ship (front and rear bumpers, sliders, and lots of Baja lights) but when it came time to ship, they charged my card almost $2,000 more without my permission. They were very nonchalant about it too like “oh it’s just another $2k.” Confirmed with me at least 5 times I was paid off and then all of a sudden I’m charged extra because of increased market prices even though I paid it off while the prices were lower. I like their products but they can be shady.

Did you dispute the $2000? They said my order didn't include tax, and that I had to pay it upon pickup.

I told them I didn’t agree with it and was pissed they didn’t get my consent to move forward before charging my card. I had been arguing about it with a specific employee for a couple weeks and told them I wanted to back out if the price was going up. After a couple of weeks going back forth, the owner left me a voicemail saying they were shipping my items and they charged my card. I tried calling back and no one answered so I immediately filed a claim with my credit card and it was no contest. I got my money back almost instantly. It sucks because this was within a year of getting screwed by Resz fab. It made me realize that spending thousands of dollars on truck bumpers and sliders probably isn’t for me.

I ended up disputing the charge with Demello. I can't get ahold of them. Still haven't answered the phone or email or text.

It's close enough to black Friday. Maybe CBI will have a discount in a month.

How many cans did it take to do both sides? Did you use an adhesion promoter or just clean the sliders and spray with the Steel-it?

I used a power sander and 40 grit to scuff them up the best I could. I think I used 5 cans total for both sides.

Good job calling. I was going to say reach out to them if you had concerns but you've done that.

White knuckle is a good brand

The white knuckles are awesome. I also didn't drill my frame installing mine. If I were to do any serious wheeling though I would.

    PLOT TWIST:

Demello emailed me today saying that mine will be ready by next week and they are sorry that they had some material sourcing issues. Would've been nice if they had kept me updated! My credit card dispute has already been submitted. I'm actually pretty annoyed because I put a dent on my truck last week that sliders would've prevented.

I'd only get caliraised if you live where there is NO salt/snow.

I had them and the powdercoat failed in the first 3 months of the first winter.

I'm running White Knucks since the truck was new in 2016, and they've been excellent. I actually use them to slide over dirt berms and rocks when out on the trail, and they also keep the door ding fairies away.

Took major hits on Mineral Creek trail in Southwest CO. No issues! Plenty of folks at the end of the trail were surprised we came down in a full-size. Without the sliders we'd have taken a good amount of damage.

Def a beastly job to drill and mount to the frame!

In retrospect I'd have gotten diamond plate on the entire slider instead of just the rear kick out. Probably going to add some skate deck tape to the front door portion.

That trail is so great. Did you walk down to the waterfall at the Poughkeepsie turnoff? I ran it solo with my two boys and niece in the truck with me a few years ago.

And yes - I’ve added grip tape to all the slider surfaces you might step on.

    Sick photos!
We missed the waterfall for a lot of reasons.
Did it with the spiciness nearing maximum:
-In the rain with heavy rain impending.
    -Solo
    -Pregnant wife spotting.
    :)
    Good times!

Hi. Do the white knuckle offroad sliders work as a decent step too? Wife likes the running boards to step in. Some sliders do not have the depth to get a foot hold.
    Thanks,
    Dave

I don't have the top plate. My kids and wife like the sliders as a step. However, for reference my wife isn't one to ever wear heals or wedges, same with the 2 daughters. I'm sure the top plate would help but I honestly can't give an opinion since I don't have that option. I like mine a lot. As stated above they can be a bit slippery. Mine are painted with a bed liner grip texture.

Def not the depth of a running board but plenty to step on for the shorties! Without the top plate, I worry about the dog putting her foot between the tubing and breaking her leg so she gets picked up and lifted in. Princess...
