Hi Everyone! I have a 2019 Tundra Limited CrewCab 4wd and I am looking to upgrade my suspension. My wife gets motion sick fairly easy and I would like to make the ride a bit better for her. I have no idea where to start. From what I have seen, adding at least a rear sway bar should help a little. As far as upgrading the shocks go, is there a certain brand/type that work better for the tundra? I am not looking to spend a ton of money, but I know it can add up quick. Any help/advice is appreciated.

You said a lot but really didn't help anyone with what you need.

What type of driving do you do? All on road, dirt trails, off roading?

Do you keep a lot of weight in the bed or is it fairly empty most of the time?

Are you lifted or stock height? And what are your current shocks?

The rear sway bar helps limit bed roll but you lose some articulation since you have connected the left and right side together and have them also tied to the axel. So sometime a small bump is felt more noticeably. So that may cause more neasua for the wife if bumps are more her problem.

Also, what is your rough budget? You say you don't want to spend a lot but that is very arbitrary and not useful lol.

Just as a shot in the dark. Sub 1k all in, check out this Eibach kit. It will replace all 4 shocks and has good on road performance and comfort.

Hotshot Offroad is run by @memario1214 who is an excellent vendor to work with and is a wealth of knowledge. Once you answer some of the above questions, he may steer you to a kit that is better for your needs.

    Hey @RobertD,

Thanks for the info. All on road, no lift, bigger tires, etc. Stock suspension as well. I don’t typically carry much in the bed, unless we go on long trips or I am working on big projects around the house. Budget would be 2k but can be flexible.

You say stock suspension, are you current shocks the all black body, the red and blue, or the yellow and blue?

With that budget, I'd move to the Eibach Pro shocks. They will absorb more and feel a little softer which should give you a really nice and comfortable ride on the road. The fronts are height adjustable (within their limits) so you can gain some clearance depending on tire size.

As @RobertD alluded to if you and your wife are feeling that wallowy ride then something like the Eibach will clean that right up. One question I do have for you is where in the country do you live?

Okay then you'll be good with the Eibachs. I just don't like recommending them to folks in the salt belt as they tend to surface corrode quicker than other options! We haven't really talked about how much lift height that you want (if any), but I would also say that going with the Pro Truck 2 kit is the move since you can easily adjust the ride height which in your case I am going to guess will be down a bit. These kits come at +2", but can be taken down to near stock height.

I don't think that you "need" the 2R kit based on your use case, but I can show it to you here. It adds a remote reservoir to the rear which will bring up your oil capacity in the rear. That additional oil helps the shock resist fade in the situations in which you're pushing the truck hard, are loaded down with gear, etc.

@memario1214 saw your note regarding road salt. I am in northern Illinois, plenty of that here during the winter. Any other recommendations for primarily on road driving to smooth the ride. I have a 3” lift currently with TRd extended axels. Feel quite. Bit of the road on rougher streets. Thanks in advance

If I understand correctly, are you looking to replace what you have now, and do you want to maintain the 3" of lift?

I’d like to if I can, but if it is the primary reason for feeling the washboard bumps in the road I can do away with the lift

Honestly, anything in the performance sector is going to get rid of that "chatter" that you're feeling. The different valving just helps soak up changes in road conditions. Something like this - Eibachs ride a little softer than some other options out there as well

@memario1214 regarding the Eibachs, you mentioned hesitation in the salt belt. I live in Chicago and salt usage is high here half the year. Any other recommendations?

Right now, and in the similar price point/performance, the Icon EXPs are a pretty good option. We don't have them up on the site yet, but can definitely get them to ya! You'll reuse your OEM springs as well.

Ideally. Having a matched setup allows for consistent valving system-wide. Pairing it with something like the 56516R would be a solid upgrade all around. I'll shoot you a PM so that we don't completely blow up the OP's thread

+1 for @memario1214 . He helped me out with my suspension needs on the GX project and has been quick to reply with any questions I've had. Even a year after purchase, replied to me the same day.
