Close, it's actually just beyond -40F... Exactly when this happens is also influenced by humidity as well...

Which is also kinda interesting because -40 is also where F intersects w/C (meaning -40F is also -40C)

I think I was thinking of the "throw boiling water in the air" and it vaporizes into a cloud kind of cold.

Finally set up some dust collection for the woodworking tools. It's nothing fancy, just a HF blower mounted directly to the wall that exhausts outside without any kind of filtration. Needless to say I couldn't not try it out so I've spent the last few days scratching that itch and keeping those skills sharp.

Here's yesterdays cabinets freshly hung in their new home. I guess I am one of those guys now:rofl:

    20250122_104558.jpg

Cabinet on the left will contain the stereo receiver and the pc. I need to order some mounts for the gas struts and door hardware.

Time to cleanup and get the shop into metal mode for a while:thumbsup:

Excellent news! 4WD is working again.

Guessing that the reason it was freaking out was the -22° outdoor temperature. Not sure why I didn't think of that yesterday.

Don’t you love when you drive yourself crazy at work trying to fix a hardware problem only to learn it’s a software problem? Such is my life.

Well at least I got a boatload of OT out of it.

Not as extensive as I’d like….my dad used to cut logs, and made sure I knew several species of trees. Red oak, and shumardii oak are my favorite.

If texas truck doesn't work out, i'm in oregon and if you ever see something that fancies your eye anywhere close to Portland, there are a lot of them here that are rust free. I can help facilitate by previewing the truck and or picking you up at at the PDX airport.

Same for LIT area and airport @BroHon . Search FBMP for Little Rock Tundras and if you find something, let me know. I’ll try to help out and can scoop you up if you find one here and fly in to pick it up.

Wife is saying the battery light is on the RAV4. The battery is relatively new. It's been very cold but we park it indoors. Would that be an alternator issue possibly? Ironically I have a new alternator on the way because I was planning to replace it when I do the water pump (alternator has to be removed to get to water pump).

If you want a deal, that's how it goes down. 90% of the time anyways. I've made deposits on trucks through PayPal site unseen after talking to sellers on the phone. About half the time after talking to somebody they refuse the deposit and mark it pending for me. Venmo and PayPal both have buyer protection and if you get ripped off they make you whole. Last truck I bought I paid in full before seeing them through Venmo. It was only 1500 bucks, but I was more than comfortable after talking to the guy and wanted to get the deal done before he changed his mind.
