I am trying to find someone that would look at a truck in Luray, VA for me before I spend a bunch of money to fly. I thought about calling some of the nearest Toyota dealers to ask if they had a mechanic that may consider going after work for a fee but then thought I’d put it here first. If anyone knows someone that may consider helping out let me know. It’s a 2006 first gen Tundra and of course pictures look good but you just never know. My biggest concerns are (of course) rust, rust, rust! After that I just want to know if the basic stuff looks good. 4WD, steering parts, any leaks, etc. I’ll post this in the SE region forum as well.

Good luck on your quest. Is Virginia really in the southeast though?

Heck I don’t know! I didn’t see a Virginia forum so I figured I’d try both NE and SE region forums.

Have the truck taken to a mechanic and perform a PPI. For a few hundred bucks at most they will test mechanicals, throughly look it over and test drive it as well.

That’s a 4 hour drive one way for me. Better off highering a mechanic near the truck. Good luck.
