    Hello Tundra Forum,
New to the tundra thread and just got a tundra.
2018 5.7 cm sr5 with magnusen super charger, icon lift, 35’s and bigger brakes. The truck was built up at a local speed shop by the Original Owner and only had 17k miles on it a few months ago.
I just took it out to the dunes at pismo beach.
Seemed strange that the throttle peddle was not cooperating with my inputs. I tried goosing it a bit here and there and in most cases it went but in other cases nothing happened, kinda like a stalled signal or an electronic disconnect of some sort.
I’m digging into this but thought I could introduce myself to the forum, start a thread, and get some feedback at the same time.
I’m definitely getting used to this truck still, so there is a lot I have yet to learn.

While out there, I found out you don’t want the collision warning system on while offf roading, probably should have lowered the tire pressure to 20 or less, and tried out 4low. Had a constant beeping while engaged, but figured I’ll read why in the manual.

This truck is a beast and I love it so far, just getting my feet wet with this thing.

thank you in advance for any input,
    Frank

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of. still happened a few other times after turning off the TC.
I didn’t get a good pulse on why or when it was happening. Im figuring it might be a traction control issue or some sort of electronic throttle feature.

Did you turn off ALL the traction control?? It's a multi-step process to get the nannies to be completely quiet. Press and hold for 3-5 seconds, press and hold for 3-5 more seconds..

Also, if your 4wd light is blinking and the truck is beeping at you, it's having an issue shifting in to 4wd. Perhaps the actuator is sticking - often times from inactivity. It needs to be cycled monthly. But I find that once you are in sand, snow, mud, etc. it's much more difficult to engage. If your rear wheels are spinning or you are stuck, it's even more difficult to engage. Turning the wheels back and forth a little while driving slowly helps the synchros and gears mesh.

I did not hold it down and do that? Guess I’ll need to read the manual more. I figured one touch and it’s off.
Thanks is for pointing that out. that must be the issue.

You need to put the tire pressure way lower. I run at 10-12 psi in the dunes. Turn off the traction control twice like the other said. It will be a different truck.

It's pretty straightforward once you figure it out. One press in 2wd just turns on the AutomaticLimitedSlip, which will simply apply the rear brakes to control wheel speed and behave like a limited slip diff on a boat ramp or other slow speed maneuvers. In 4wd, one press turns off the first layer of traction control, but doesn't let you go full bananas. Press and hold down the button for 3 seconds until you see a few lights illuminate; I don't recall what 2018 lights will come one (my '13 just turns off TRAC and something else, while my 2021 also turns off pre-collision avoidance).
