so i got my first truck - a 2017 Tundra Crewmax 4x4 with the TRD package. stock 18" wheel with 275/65/18.
took the truck for a cruise at i25 here in denver and i notice that the car bounces when reaching 75-80 and after 80 its smooth sailing again and vice versa when slowing down. are my tires over inflated or is that normal for trucks to do.

any suggestions? would installing a rear sway bar fix this? i also have ordered 285/55/20 nit tires with 20 x 9 rims. would the bigger wheel and tires solve this? need advise....

Was it a concrete highway? Sounds like bed bounce. Bigger wheels won’t help, might actually make it feel rougher.

How much air do you have in the tires? Low psi on a P rated tire can feel like a sponge in the right conditions.

Tires may need speed balancing. That's what it sounds like to me.

Yep, it is the roads. Only thing you can do is suspension tuning. Have you tried that speed on other roads?

Where are you going 75-80 mph on I25 in Denver? It is usually stop and go.

some weight in the back might help as well. once i put the topper on mine, it started to settle. then really settled with the drawers, kings and new leaf packs...

A sway bar will make it worse.

You will need to upgrade to a shock that is tunable, and the rebound will have to be adjusted. Call the guys at Filthy Motorsports in Denver.

You have a two fold problem.

    1) rear part of the frame is flexy.
    2) factory shock on vehicles suck.

The expansion joints on the freeway are almost the wheelbase of a truck. Colorado should not have concrete highways.

A little of this and a little of that.
I had the same problem until I changed the rear shocks and the bed bounce went away by half, at least. I need to do what @smslavin did to his ride!! Then I’ll have no bed bounce. Good thing our freeways aren’t that bad. Only one section of one of the freeways that I travel on actually.

That particular stretch, 25 from Lincoln to castle rock, is real bad for the bounce....

That is because Nevada knows how to build concrete highways.

My 2016 does the same in Denver. Especially on 285 going up to the mountains. 7500 miles on mine. Stock TRD off road suspension.

Or some trucks with close to your wheelbase.

Our 4Runner, Tacoma, GMC is smooth through that section. I still get it a little in the GMC. I'm putting some King 2.5's on the rear for sure.

A little of this and a little of that.

We do have pretty good roads for the most part. They just take forever to build them. Half the time the reduced speed limits are in effect, no one is even working on the stupid road.

They came with my lift kit. They’re the Zone nitrogen shocks. Not really good but better than stock TRD OR. Just until I can put my icons on her.

Be glad they take the time and do it right. I would like to blame our roads on the weather changes, but I have had some of the hottest and coldest days in my life training in northern Nevada.
