Ya, I'm kinda on a black budget right now. Tires, wheels, new body work, not to mention dual ARB's in the 60 + full
axle rebuilds. Road trip up Highway thru Hell on Monday morning, if you have ever seen the show we are doing the Coq
to pick up my new box. I just finished upgrades to utility trailer. FYI, 16' of 3" angle 3/16" cost $127!!

Is that LEER cap the actual proper regular cab cap made by Leer for the Reg Cab? Is it actually supposed to be that tight
to the cab? Looks like less than 1" I have to admit I'm liking this if that is true. Can anyone confirm?

Still looking for one. Patiently waiting. Any thoughts on the 4.7 vs 5.7 V8, if one had to choose between the two?

I think beggars can't be choosers, sort of wait to see what is offered when it appears. I like the power and lack of timing belt in 5.7.
I think despite having to put a timing belt in, the 4.7 is a better motor. Mine ran smoother than the 5.7, just nicer on the throttle.
There is a beautiful 5.7 SR5 2008 RCSB on FB in Vancouver Canada for $16K - About $11,5K USD but I guess that's not inside
the 25 yr rule for importing. I don't understand that rule, and be worth questioning.

It’s official to save people from asking. A DC canopy WILL NOT fit a regular cab truck.
The regular cab if flatter across the top rear corners. The DC curves in and forward in the upper corners and down along the sides. I found a beautiful LEER 100XL which I got cheap. Rear hatch handle needed replacement. Today I got it replaced and all adjusted and mounted on the truck. I took the truck up the mountain this morning to go for a walk. It’s pretty gnarly road in to where I walk from. It actually rubbed the white from the canopy to the cab. I can’t mount it further back without looking silly. It looks nice but I’m going to sell it up and keep looking for an actual regular cab canopy.

@rcsbguy since you boxed in your frame I have a question. How much frame flex did you get prior to? Did you have a cap
prior to the overland camper you have now? Did it rub the back of the cab? As you can see above this cap rubbed. But
it's pretty close. I'm trying to figure out how the cap on this rcsb in this video doesn't rub or do you think it would but
    only ever so slight?

This may be the dumbest idea ever — but, could you raise this cap even 3/16 to 1/4” to fit the profile of the back of the cab while still giving the appearance that it’s fit snuggly on the bed rails? Yours looks like it sits a touch lower than the top of the cab (just like mine - except mine matches the geometry of the cab better).

Except it’s needs to come forward to seal front of the box. It’s front edge of canopy is behind the edge
of the box. Being flush with the roof is what really makes it look so good.

The cap on his truck is made for the RCSB. I can tell by the taper to the back, along with the perfect fitment at the end of the bedsides by the tailgate.

I never had rubbing problems only because I appropriately spaced out my camper (back then it was a Topo Topper Mesa). But the frame flex was insane, I could watch my entire bed shake down the freeway and offroad was even worse.

Got it - yeah, looks like a valiant attempt that ultimately ends with a Craigslist listing.

Craigslist is sooo last century, LOL. Facebook it is as soon as I replace the interior light and the carpet dries from washing.

Weird the 'shake' you describe. I just came back from that trip into the interior of BC and this truck was really stable.
If I had not had this cap on I'd not have known how much it shifted but to be honest it's barely 1/4" from the cab so I'm
not surprised. I've got rust spots developing in the box under the Line-X. To repair I might remove the box. If I do that
I might look at a couple of plates in the frame to stiffen it up slightly

Is there a tread specific to Lifting RCSBs?

I don't think so. There is this thread and if anyone has lifted one it's probably on here. The drivetrain is
not specific to RCSB and crossover is huge within the whole line of Tundra. It's basically 2007-2021? Essentially
    same.
There are 'title' threads under 'General Tundra Discussion' and two of them specific to lifting.
Ironically, I'm lowering the back of my 4x4 RCSB and installing airbags. I do wheel the truck but I'm an old dog
and know what and how about getting thru the gnarly stuff now.
