Yeah, I remember learning that something like 90% of taste is actually smell but, for all I know, that's one of those "facts" that could have been debunked since then.

I’ve got this fountain in my backyard. It runs every day no matter how cold it gets. It turns off at night, and has a small heater in the basin. It’s been running for over 15 years, and the birds know where it is. It will start back up in the morning even in sub zero weather. It has changed my whole neighborhood, and beyond. There have been a few times when it’s the only open, unfrozen water for at least a mile, and things can get pretty crazy when that happens. I have helped save and raise a lot of birds. I also have a pair of ducks that have returned multiple years.

When it gets really cold, the Robins will flock together in large groups, and spend hours there. I’ve also seen Cedar Waxwings flock with them recently. I need to set up a bird cam.

 

Never leave it to a kicker... lame...


in other news... the robins are here now... Fun to see them doing bird stuff in my yard. Especially since birds arent real

 

The absolute worst smell is old Kraft Mac and Cheese. I was working dorm security over Christmas break back at MSU and there was a horrible stench - smelled like a dead body, coming from one of the rooms. Some dipshit made Mac & cheese, didn't eat it all, put it in their trash and then went home on Christmas break. That shit is horrible.

Also, I recently tried some Tilamook White Cheddar and black pepper cheese. That shit on some Pretzels Crisps is my new snacky snack.

the only comfort I can add is this shit is in every big city. My kid sister took a job in Houston. Not thrilled and blocked news from that area.
