I used to, but after I turned about 38 I started to wear slip on shoes so my feet don't get wet in the snow.

It's not the shoes. It's the act of running. That shit sucks.

I've got some Ariat square toe boots that are pretty solid for actual work. Are you meaning slip ons like that, or actual shoes?

Also have the xTratufs for shitty weather like we're having now. They are the go-to for most of the charter boat folks here, and pretty damn comfortable too, for what they are. I also have Mucks, steel toe Ariats when needed, and Brooks for both work and home.

Check the build link in my signature.
I was that way for a long time
Then I bought a pair of OluKais like those pictured and never looked back.
I can’t wear them for any serious walking or hiking, but casual in warm weather they are comfy.

Still takes up less space than if she left even a portion of her shoe collection out, I'm sure.

I'm long overdue for some new shoes. I've worn Skechers for the last several years as they fit my fat feet well and are comfortable for walking but their prices have tripled since I last bought shoes.

    You just wait
I used to wear Crocs often in the summer but now they are reserved for fishing on the boat, kayaking, or around the house. Tennis shoes or hikers are the go to footwear.

I don't wear shoes with laces that are traditionally tied anymore. Instead you put them on and cinch them to the tightness you want and from there on out they are basically slip on shoes. The ones I wear are the following:

    Merrill Chameleon 8
    Salomon hiking shoes
La Sportiva Trail Running Shoes (GTX) - Although I don't buy them as often as they use really bright colors as accents and I prefer black/grey shoes.

I don't wear flip flops, even in summer. They're uncomfortable, trap pebbles under my feet and aren't functional for walking, running or fighting grizzlies. Plus the flap flap flap they do pisses me off.

In summer around the house I'm usually barefoot unless I'm doing chores. I have a pair of Keen closed toe sandals for hanging out at the river. Otherwise, it's Salomon shoes or hiking boots.

They don't. The celebrities and wealthy folks will rebuild their mansions and pay people to grease the wheels throughout the rebuild process. The regular folks will hit a wall of new regulations and permits that were created at the State/County/City level since their home was built which will increase the price of rebuilding the exact same house by who knows how much. Local rent prices will shoot through the roof.

Later, they will find out that their insurance coverage, while adequate, doesn't cover the inflated materials/labor costs that builders will charge because all of a sudden a glut of homes need to be built and they get to cash in citing inflation, labor shortages etc...

In the end, many home owners will collect their insurance payouts, sell the burnt out lots and move somewhere else. Developers will buy up the single family lots and get them rezoned to something else and make a crap ton of money off of that. Homeowner insurance rates will shoot through the roof and even more insurance companies will exit the California market.

The various incompetent virtue signaling politicians at the State/County/City level will decry the lack of affordable housing that their own policies have created and the voters will continue to vote for more of that stupidity and wonder why they can't afford a $20 Big Mac meal at McDonalds anymore. Oh and they still won't take brush clearing/abatement seriously enough to prevent stuff like this happening in the future. Nor will they build the needed reservoir capacity to have enough water for people and will instead cry about global warming and climate change when in reality California last built a reservoir in something like 1978. Meanwhile the population has quadrupled...

Source, I live in Sonoma County and this exact thing happened here when the Tubbs fire rolled through in 2016. I was in Arizona at the time but moved back in 2018 and the place still looked like a warzone. A crap ton of people took their money and left. The population still hasn't recovered. A very close friend of mine was quoted $3.5 million to rebuild his home he bought a few years earlier for $1.5 million. He bought a house somewhere else a city down and his lot is still sitting empty to this day.

There are empty lots dotting the area almost 10 years later because the cost to rebuild is too high due to regulation/permitting.

Yes to all of this. And we'll all be paying higher insurance rates to cover this (actually, we already are). And materials and labor for everyone else will go up as normal supply-demand forces adjust to the giant vacuum of things going to CA. And waves of CA people will flow out into other communities and start soiling the dirt there. And the next level of "elected" stupid will just inspire OR and WA to up their game.

Not hating on you dude...you and I are in the same environment. :fistbump:
